Costa vida has always been a safe option for me with celiac. When I order online, I just make sure I choose the gluten free tortilla on the options and in person, they change gloves and are super careful about cross-contamination. Never been sick from eating here in any location so far.

From their allergen list: We have worked diligently to remove wheat gluten from all our sauces, dressings, and proteins. Natural glutens remain only in our flour and wheat tortillas and in two desserts--tres leches and key lime pie. This means that we offer "oceans of gluten-free options" in our menu. All of these items are gluten-free: all enchiladas, all tacos, all salads (without the flour or wheat tortilla), all nachos, and our chicken tortilla so up...which uses corn strips.
I told the waitress I was celiac. She instantly started taking off her gloves, washed her hands thoroughly and then put 2 pair of clean gloves before she took my order. The corn tortillas were stored far away from the flour tortillas!!!

SO SO AMAZING!!🥺🙌🏼 I told them i was celiac and the guy taking my order switched his gloves. He told all the workers and wouldn’t hand off my food to workers with contaminated gloves.

Staff was very helpful, changed gloves without being asked and a single server took charge of my food preparation to prevent cross contamination. I’ve eaten here twice. I enjoyed the food, had no reaction and had carefully service both times.

If you have Celiac, this Costa Vida is NOT SAFE! The guy did not wash his hands and put on fresh gloves tonight. He turned around and put a pair of gloves over his dirty pair.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT!! I am not kidding when I say that this place is so good to my many allergies and I absolutely think everything here is yummy. They change their gloves and go get new bowls out. I love this place!!!! 🌮🥙

This is a assemble up as you order Mexican place. While I was told by the staff who took my order they would isolate and change gloves, there was none of that, nor was the request passed down the line. I saw my order get contaminated before my eyes. I tried this place based on previous recommendations, but now having been there I do not see any way a celiac could get a contamination free order.

I have celiac and this is one of the few places I can eat. They will wash their hands and put new gloves on. Very knowledgeable. Staff have been very well trained. Pretty much everything is gluten free except the flour tortilla. They also have dairy free options. I always order inside to be sure it stays 100% gluten free as I am so sensitive.

The staff is very knowledgable and careful. They change gloves and only one staff member will handle your food. The food here is great and service phenomenal. One of our go to places.

great gluten free options
Not all the workers seem know about the gf protocols but when they do, they are very good at following them; changing their gloves, getting certain foods from the original containers etc.

I had a sweet pork salad. The person that helped me wasn’t sure about my questions but the shift manager helped out. Gloves changed, one person took my order through the whole line. Fryer is GF and tortilla strips are safe.
Only thing in the restaurant with gluten are the flour tortillas. Watch your food and it looks at least as safe as Chipotle…honestly maybe a bit safer because they use utensils for lettuce and cheese where other places use gloves.
