I used to live it here, but for the past few years I have been consistently disappointed. The servers cross contaminate everything by rubbing the spoons and tongs around on the tortillas. I hoped I could get past this by asking if it would be possible to scoop from a fresh pot, but they just dumped the same food into a fresh pot. I won't be going here again.

Costa Vida is generally really good about gluten free, and this location is great. Basically just the flour tortillas and most desserts have gluten, but pretty much everything else is gluten free. I said I had a gluten allergy, and he immediately changed his gloves without being asked. Then he communicated to all the other people on the line that it was gluten free so they changed their gloves. I got a steak salad, and he even got corn tortillas out from a separate closed container. I didn’t even know they had corn tortillas. I was ready just to have no tortillas at all, so that was a pleasant surprise. Everything was delicious!

From their allergen list: We have worked diligently to remove wheat gluten from all our sauces, dressings, and proteins. Natural glutens remain only in our flour and wheat tortillas and in two desserts--tres leches and key lime pie. This means that we offer "oceans of gluten-free options" in our menu. All of these items are gluten-free: all enchiladas, all tacos, all salads (without the flour or wheat tortilla), all nachos, and our chicken tortilla so up...which uses corn strips.
Not all the workers seem know about the gf protocols but when they do, they are very good at following them; changing their gloves, getting certain foods from the original containers etc.

I had a sweet pork salad. The person that helped me wasn’t sure about my questions but the shift manager helped out. Gloves changed, one person took my order through the whole line. Fryer is GF and tortilla strips are safe.
Only thing in the restaurant with gluten are the flour tortillas. Watch your food and it looks at least as safe as Chipotle…honestly maybe a bit safer because they use utensils for lettuce and cheese where other places use gloves.
