We just got back from our week-long stay at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort and our group ate at the food court frequently before and after park visits. The menus were definitely geared toward kids, but the chefs took allergies really seriously, and took very good care of me at every meal, always serving my food on a purple allergy tray and in a sealed to-go box with an allergy sticker. I often waited in line with parents of kids with a variety of allergies (the usual top 8 pls less-heard of ones like kiwi) and no matter what the combo, the chefs had safe recommendations.
I confirmed with the chefs at each visit which options were Celiac-safe, and was told by all of them that they can safely make GF pizza, mac & cheese, mojo chicken, salmon, mashed potatoes, succatash, steamed green beans & carrots, rice, chicken tenders, fries, tots, burgers, omelettes, waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit cup, and I think one chef even said the chicken sandwiches can be made GF too maybe? I can only vouch for the:
- GF waffles (very sweet even without syrup, but nice to get in on the Mickey-shaped foods since they have a dedicated waffle maker for the GF waffles)
- bacon (thin and greasy)
- scrambled eggs (very rubbery)
- omelettes (decent and pretty big)
- fruit cup (fine)
- tots (nice and crispy)
- chicken tenders (crispy and moist)
- fries (fine)
- mojo chicken (underseasoned but moist and a half a chicken so very shareable)
- succatash (really tasty)
- rice (just plain white rice but cooked well)
- steamed green beans (unseasoned but great to have some veggies).
Being spring break during our visit, the food court was often busy, so meals could take anywhere from 5-20 minutes to get after ordering at the allergy station in the bakery storefront. (Breakfast and lunch tended to be faster to get than dinner. ) Our first night there after a long travel day, the meal took the longest to get, but it was because the chef had graciously offered to go off menu and just steam some salmon and veggies with rice for me. I was so grateful--it was exactly what I needed. Tip for while you're waiting--they have alternative milks at the bakery and can make lattes there, even though they're not on the menu. With all of the 5-6 meals our group ate here, I never had any reactions, and for how busy the place was, this was an extraordinary feat!

Excellent service. Extra care taken for prevention of cross contamination or mistakes. The chef was called to take my order and then delivered it to me, marked with allergy stickers. The beignets are delicious and served on a separate, clearly color coded tray. We go out of our way to stop here every time we are in Orlando.

My breakfast was ok. Omelet and potatoes, that were almost cooked. I didn’t get sick, so there’s that. My dinner order was taken and 30 minutes later, I still had no food. The same chef came and took my order again… with 4 kids falling asleep, I opted for a granola bar in my room. Bummer.

Amazing service and food! The salad was great but the shrimp and grits was incredible. I had the sorbet for dessert and it was very good. I highly recommend this place!!

Staff was extremely knowledgeable. We stayed at the riverside resort and ate at both boatwrights and the riverside mill food court. At the food court there is a designated place to order and there are a significant number of options - chicken fingers, fries, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, etc. Everything ordered is made separate in the back. Also breakfast options include waffles and pancakes and they were both excellent. Boatwrights has a separate allergy menu. I got the ribs there and my wife (gluten and dairy allergy) got the jambalaya. We both highly recommend this resort if you are staying at Disney with a gluten allergy.
Ate at both Boat Wright’s and Riverside Mill Food Court. Both have lots of gluten free options including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. Knowledgeable staff and the amazing chefs will come out and speak with you. Food is good!! Food prepared in a separate cook space.

Best gluten free friendly place in Disney world. I traveled there for the beignets and had a delish beignet sunday after an amazing shrimp and grits dinner. I was so pleased by how well and kind the castmembers were to me and I wish I lived closer.

I ordered Gluten Free Beignets from the quick service at French Quarter. The chef comes out and talks to you and then in 4 minutes he delivers you hot gluten free beignets that are to die for. Order in 3's.

Love the turkey, mashed potatoes, and corn meal from the Chef’s Carving Station in the Riverside Mill food court.
You have a chef come right to you to modify whatever you see on the menu. It's perfect! Great food and great service. Thanks to Chef Marco for some great meals!!

Great staff (chef knew all about celiac and made daughter waffles and bacon). This is why we love Disney!

You go up to a specific area when you tell someone you need GF and they hand you an allergen menu and have you talk to the chef who takes your order and prepares the meal personally. They give you a little pager and your meal comes out with little sticks that say allergy. The waffles were FANTASTIC! The beignets were a bit chewy but it was nice to be able to actually have them again. Cool atmosphere.
