This place is the sweetest. Always gf treats available!

This is one of my absolute favorite coffee shops - their syrups are all GF and they use a certified GF oat milk. However, they are pretty open about the high risk of cross contamination with their gluten free treats (which is definitely a bummer because their treats smell so yummy)

I know one of the bakers is gluten free, so almost everything made in-house is gf (they do get some baked goods from other places, but everything is separate and marked)

This place is so adorable! Located a little off the beaten path, its colors, vibes and silly skeleton outside welcome you! You walk in and instantly feel the atmosphere. It’s giving color and GAY, which so happen to be 2 of my favorite things. The coffee was DELICIOUS, flavor kept getting better with each sip (decaf iced lavender latte with oat milk). One of the baristas let me know of their full gluten free options and days that if I wanted some, I’d need to come early. They also have it noted on the pastry case that GF is stored elsewhere and to ask! I’m excited to stop in tomorrow for a sandwich! My celiac tastebuds are watering 🙈

The coffee was delightful, and I didn’t notice any cross-contamination of the coffee. It tasted like a light-medium roast espresso, so it wasn’t super bitter. They didn’t have a gluten free menu, however they had baked treats marked, and seemed pretty cautious and accommodating when communicating about safety needs!
They also had a sticker wall and other goodies including art prints for sale. It’s a lovely shop, and it’s likely to become a regular spot for me!

Drifter is the absolute best. I am a very symptomatic celiac, eating out is just not something I can do without getting sick regardless of all the preparations and proper communication. I have never once gotten sick from the gluten free treats at Drifter. While they do not have a dedicated gluten free kitchen they offer many GF items and take precautions to minimize cross contact where they can. 10/10

EDIT 7/6/2023: the owner has heard our pleas and they now keep the gf items separate!
This is my favorite coffee shop in the area, and they make in house pastries! All of their syrups, coffee, tea are gf and their gf pastries are marked. I come at least once a week and have never been sick. They offer dairy free milk and the gf pastries are usually vegan as well.

Drifter is a great atmosphere, but I would only get coffee here as a celiac. I had one of their gluten-free doughnuts and realized they were touching other gluten-containing bakery items after I had taken a bite.

I did not end up being able to order anything. I was told that everything would be cross-contaminated.
