Elly’s Brunch & Cafe

I know this isn’t a dedicated gluten free kitchen. I’ve been here once before and the server was kind, accommodating and I didn’t get sick.

This time (Sept 26, 2022 1pm) I let our server know about my celiac, asking for my food to be cooked in another pan and clean utensils. The server was kind.

Then another woman came out, clearly annoyed and said they weren’t a gluten free facility. I replied “I know, I’m just asking for the cross contamination to be reduced by using clean pans and utensils.” She said she didn’t know if the kitchen could “really do that” and that “everything in there is all mixed together”. It’s this point, her demeanor didn’t give me much comfort so I asked just for scrambled eggs in a separate pan.

My hope for eggs, bacon, GF pancakes and fruit turned into just eggs and a handful of blueberries (apparently the mixed fruit isnt sage, according to the annoyed employee).

— Good

I always get the gluten free pancakes! I love them ❤
