Plenty of options labeled gf but unwilling to take preventative steps for cross contamination.

Had many gluten free choices of ice cream, you just have to get it in a cup.

Do not go if you have celiac. Rude. Wouldn’t get any icecream from back. “too frozen” I’ve never been told that before at any Haagen daaz. Pints all over on display but they say they scoop from main tubs. Had a no way we can do that for you attitude. My daughter was crushed. Haagen daaz itself is amazing just don’t go to this store.

Haagen-Dazs have a lot of ice-creams that are ‘manufactured without gluten-containing ingredients’ but as I’m dairy-free also,I was expecting sorbet at best - not my fave(!) I was surprised to be offered salted chocolate truffle non-dairy ice cream. When I explained that I was concerned about cross-contamination, the server herself suggested opening a fresh tub. She said it would take a while longer as the ice cream was frozen solid. She spent a good 5 minutes hacking out a cup of ice-cream for me with a clean scoop, which was so sweet of her! The ice cream was really good, you could not tell that it was non-dairy. They don’t use gloves at Haagen-Dazs, which is my one gripe, but usually they only touch the outside of the cup and the scoop.

Called to ask about gluten-freeness. The man on the phone said cones were gluten free- it seemed too good to be true so we asked to double check. Apparently NONE of them were gluten free, but the fact that he confidently said they were was pretty unsettling. If I hadn’t asked again, I would have gotten very sick. We also asked if they could get the ice cream from a new tub in the back and they said no. I wouldn’t ever say this place is safe for sensitive celiacs.

They are “100% able” to accommodate gluten allergies.
We went and they cleaned the scoop before picking the Ice Cream - knowledgeable staff.

They have a gluten free menu and use precautions like opening new containers. Limited staff knowledge and not a ton of options

The ice cream flavors that are gluten free are clearly marked on the labels located on the glass above the ice cream. We were able to get a scoop from a fresh, newly opened container and the server washed the utensils first. I don’t know if we got a nice server or if they have changed their policy from the earlier review. It was nice to have an afternoon treat!

Typical Häagen-Dazs shop. Server had no idea about gluten and offered only raspberry and mango sorbet. Likely thought it was the same as diary or lactose intolerance.
Server did not understand the need for a clean spoon, and then went on to add the gluten free scoops to the non-GF ice cream already prepared for my other daughter.
