The waitress immediately asked if we had any allergies when she sat us down! When I told her I was GF she brought a menu that had markings on what I could eat and what to avoid. She also asked if cross contamination was okay and when I said no she made note of that. Food was amazing and I didn’t get sick!

Love the lake view but the atmosphere is just ok, unless on the patio or at the bar. I don’t love their food, but the beef fat fries are delicious. I may be biased because as a celiac, I can’t get fries everywhere, but that is usually what I order to eat for myself and I don’t share. 😂

Positives:
The view from the outside seating area is gorgeous! This is my favorite part about the restaurant.
The server asked about allergies, and she brought out a printed menu that was marked thru and such, showing what was safe for me (almond/dairy/gluten). The food and drinks are pricey, but the meal was very good. We didn’t have an issue with the taste of the food nor the safety of it.
Negatives:
The meal felt very rushed. I was with a friend, and we just wanted to relax, catch up with each other, and enjoy our meal. We ordered drinks and apps in addition to entrees. The server was quite attentive, but it was in a ‘turn the table’ way.
We ordered an app, and the sauce was not GF. The server asked if we wanted a different one, and offered a choice. We debated between two, and she said, “Why don’t I just bring both?” We agreed, and thought that was so kind - until we saw the bill. It’s a minimal cost, but we were charged for the sauces - even though she offered both with no mention of cost, and even though I could not have the one on the menu due to GF/DF.
When ordering entrees, my friend asked if she could sub the side (fries) for another side, as we had the fries as an appetizer. They told her they do not allow substitutions, but that was not noted on the menu nor posted anywhere. For the cost of her entree (+appetizer), it is pretty frustrating not to be able to select a different side.
While the food was good, the logistical and service issues made the meal less pleasant. When you’re spending over $100 for two people to eat…it should be easy, relaxing, and hassle-free.

The waitress first started by asking if anyone had dietary restrictions or allergies, and when I told her “gluten”, she then asked if cross-contamination was also an issue. Then, she got me a menu that had everything marked that was safe for me to eat. Quite a few items on the menu were already gluten free of could be modified. Super cute ambiance too!!

Limited GF menu, no entrees marked GF, only salad and some appetizers. Steer clear of fries, they say GF - was sick an hr. later.

Great experience here! We have been now 3 times since we had a great mean, great service and very aware of Gkuten Free and Celiac safety. I am very sensitive and appreciate the fact that the server and kitchen make it a priority to make good gluten free food. Will continue to customers!

This has become my go to place. The team there truly understands cross contamination needs and will make sure to ask. Good vibes and good drinks as well.

Went to Hello Sailor with my 10 year iold daughter who has Celiac. I asked the hostess if she had a gluten free menu. She said no, but she would make us one. She asked if cross contamination was allowed and I said no. A few minutes later she brought my daughter a menu with what she could not eat crossed out and what she could eat underlined. There was so much for her to choose from. She ended up ordering the mussels and ice cream for dessert..delicious!The staff were all knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back!!

During her introduction, the waitress asked the table if there were any allergy concerns at the table. Upon hearing I could not have gluten, she asked if cross contamination was an issue. She then returned with a menu the chef had taken a ballpoint pen to crossing out items that weren’t safe, marking items that could be modified, and highlighting safe as-is dishes. They went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable with my meal. Fantastic service, and the food was great too.

When I told the wait staff I have Celiac they had the chef mark up the menu (which changes daily) on what was safe for me to eat. They were also cognisant of cross contamination. I asked about the fries since the chef marked them as safe, and they have a dedicated fryer. I ended up getting the mussels and arugula salad. Both were delicious! Oysters are great too.

Their menu changes somewhat daily but I was told that they always have gluten-free options on their menu. I had the crispy duck and it was wonderful. Prior to ordering,I told the waiter that I was gluten-free, he spent some time asking me if this was for a medical issue or a preference or choice. Once that was clarified, that I had a medical issue, he crafted a menu, full of options for me and assured me that the kitchen knew about avoiding cross contamination and that he would alert them every step of the way to make sure. We had a lovely meal with a superb waitstaff.
