Review of Hen House Eatery

This is a case of a server who either isn’t knowledgeable or doesn’t care. The menu made claims of gluten free but none were marked. When I asked about the salads the server said they could be made gluten free. I ordered the Baja and asked if the dressings were gluten free. He had to ask the kitchen and said that they were. I asked about the meats (there’s a choice) and he said they were all good and that they were just grilled, yet when the meat arrived it was clearly soaked in a sauce. I suspected that the chips were fried and asked about the fryer and it isn’t separate. I didn’t fuss—I should have asked a lot of questions before ordering (I know better). All to say, don’t go here expecting that they will be proactive in taking care of you even if you say you have an allergy. On the up side, my non-GF friends thoroughly enjoyed their meal and said everything was great. The place also has a cute vibe.
