Amazing place. The food is delicious and most items can be made gf with the sub of rice instead of what’s on the menu.

Santa Fe treasure and amazing food! I've been eating at Jambo for many years and am glad for the well marked menu and educated servers. Haven't ever gotten sick from eating here. I typically avoid fried items so am uncertain if there is a dedicated fryer.

While I did not get sick eating here, I was a bit disappointed. Many items labeled gluten free are fried, or have a fried component, and their frier is not gluten free. That said, the ox tail was delicious but we found everything else we tried lacking in flavor ( combo with lamb stew, peanut stew, and chicken curry). The person who took my take out order at the counter was helpful in answering my questions, but otherwise found the service lacking. If I went back I'd stick to the ox tail ( minus the fried plantain).
Incredibly good food. Gf options are clearly labeled and I did not get sick.

I had the combo plate and the jerk wings. They do have a shared fryer but cooked the wings separately. Very juicy wings, more like spiced stewed wings than fried wings. Loaded w flavor. My combo plate w chicken curry, goat curry and lentil stew was lackluster. The flavors of the goat curry sauce was good but needed more punch and the goat was so tough (w bones attached) that it was like eating leather so I gave up. Chicken curry was ok but needed so much more punch w spices and salt. Too mild. Lentils are the green lentil kind vs Indian dal and also lacked spice and flavor. My cousin loved her morrocan lamb stew though.

Menu was marked with GF items. Server was knowledgeable about gluten-free cross contamination. I had the chicken coconut curry which was good although I wish it was spicier. The non-GF were very happy with their meals too, so this was a crowd pleaser. The flourless chocolate cake was also GF and delicious. I have celiac and had no reaction
Yes
The only gluten free option is the curry, and they warned me that there is no separation in the kitchen. Severe celiac sufferers should avoid.
No
Great choices, very reasonably priced, and delicious flan
I was thinking of ordering the chicken peanut stew. My server did tell me that the dish did not have flour in it, but that there is flour in the kitchen. There was no guarantee that there wouldn't be cross contamination. I took my chances. I did not get sick.
Love the food here! The Caribbean- African fusion produces some fantastic combinations. I had the African style beef kabobs and they were excellent. This restaurant is a must for anyone that is looking to eat something a little different. Our waiter (repeatedly) explained that the kitchen, grills and pantry are shared with gluten-containing items but I took my chances and I didn't get sick. If I lived in Santa Fe I'd eat here all of the time. Highly recommended.
Menu states that most dishes are GF and to talk to the server. The server easily confirmed that the tilapia on red chile rice and the chicken peanut stew were both GF. Also, two dessert options - flourless chocolate cake and flan. Food was delicious!
