They seemed very knowledgeable. Said manager has celiac and they are well versed. They changed gloves, used separate cutter (and discarded first few pieces), separate knife, did hers before starting others. They even had individually wrapped GF cookies (snickerdoodle). I feel confident in the safety for my daughter.

This particular Jersey Mikes has always been so cautious when preparing my daughter’s sandwiches GF. They usually use a separate slicer, a dedicated knife to cut the bread, all staff change gloves, etc. We don’t usually get toppings other than oil and vinegar because the toppings are located near the assembly line with the regular rolls /crumbs. One of the staff said one of the managers/owners has celiac disease so they are all very well trained in cross contamination.

If you cannot have cross contaminated food please stay away from the grill and the tuna (the grill has bread put on it daily and the tuna spatula touches any bread it’s ordered with). Also, mention your allergy before placing your order- this should be done everywhere but I feel like some people need the reminder. If you have any concerns or questions ask for the general manager (Sage) he is celiac and very understanding.
I’ve been lucky to not get sick from here yet. I say “yet” because it’s a disaster watching them prep food. Ingredients flying all over the place, gloves touching too many things, etc...
I’ve gone there in a pinch, and have got lucky, but I wouldn’t say it’s a no brainer safe place to eat if you have celiac.

Stay away from anything grilled they toast rolls on the grill and think a wipe down is enough.when I first started going they would not toast rolls now they do,also same for Quincy location
They were very knowledgeable and cautious, and I liked how I could watch my food being made to ensure safety.

The staff really cares, and tries to take precautions. I’ve been here four times, and was feeling confident when I went there yesterday. Unfortunately I got glutened. It was bound to happen sooner or later given the environment.
No
I feel they don't understand about cross contamination. They told me they would change gloves, wash a knife and put a paper down when making gf sandwich...but then I watched employees making non-gluten free sandwiches grab from the same containers of ingredients with their gloved hands that must be covered in gluten....that was just one of a few things there I question strongly about their procedures.

Staff switched gloves and used a special cutting board and knife. GF bread is awesome. They are very safe with cross contamination! Glad to be able to grab a sub when I want one now!
cold subs only gf,one grill and they toast rolls on it .if its grilled its not gf

Owner/manager taking orders was great. He took the time to explain sizes to us and what on the menu is gluten free and what is not (sadly the meatballs). The Udis bread was good & held up for my steak & cheese sub. He changed gloves and covered the surface with paper and prepared the sub himself. Great quick option that often doesn't exist!
Second time here and extremely impressed. Manager asked whether preference or allergy and when told I have celiac he instructed sandwich maker to change gloves. Used separate area for prep. While eating heard him do same for two other customers and teaching his staff. Outstanding!

1st time eating there, was so glad to have gluten free options! The nice lady preparing my sandwich moved to a separate countertop, wiped & laid down paper and changed her gloves! Way to do it right Jersey Mikes! Will be back!

I was pretty wary about ordering here but I was so impressed by their practices. The Udi’s bread is kept separately in sealed packaging. The young man who made my sandwich made sure that all other sandwiches were made and the surfaces were completely cleaned before making mine. And he covered the surface where he was making my order with fresh paper and used fresh gloves and a fresh knife. They also sell packaged Udi cookies.
