They changed back to the GF soy sauce (that is all that is out) and they have several GF options. Our favorites are the Kobe beef skewers and chicken skewers (ask them to prepare them GF) also the blue fin nigiri style sushi. I have a severe allergy and was fine after eating here. I would have been sick before we finished the meal. So happy to have it back!!!

Very disappointed to learn that they changed their recipes and now almost nothing is GF, including the rice and soy sauce. All I could eat were a few pieces of sauceless sashimi.

This used to be my favorite sushi spot, but they recently changed and their sushi rice & soy sauce are no longer gluten free. So it’s really not worth going to anymore.

This is our favorite restaurant in Houston. While it is a bit pricey, it’s really top notch. The house soy sauce is GF and the waitstaff is very knowledgeable. They can also modify some menu items not labeled gf if you ask.

If you want cheap sushi for a quick meal, it’s not the place.

This is where we go for special occasions but it has a casual vibe. All of their food is amazing.

I had the BEST experience here!! My fiancé took me out for our anniversary and the staff was extremely knowledgeable about allergies. We let our server know I was gluten and dairy free and then decided to do the omakase and she selected the best sashimi and nigiri I’ve ever had! She also gave us some sorbet to end the night after not seeing anything on the menu for dessert that I could have. Overall, AMAZING!! Such a treat!!!

WHATARIPOFF omg please. You can get sushi MUCH BETTER than this AND for half the price, good grief! The portions were smaller than SoCal cuisine (and I'm from San Diego) they should be ashamed of themselves for this atrocious mark up,good lord, the atmosphere DOES not warrant this pricing.

RUN do not WALK away from this establishment. Take your money elsewhere for better and fresher sushi in adult, not infant sized portions.

I wouldn’t waste your time.

Although there are one or two tasty items on the menu, they’re easily 4x the appropriate cost. My wife is celiac and to wonder if the soy sauce is safe brings terror to my heart. I’ve eaten sushi all over this continent and so far it seems Houston is only good for beef and BBQ. I’m hopeful there’s sushi available in our new town, but certainly NOT at Kata Robata!

Their Sashimi platter is amazing. Waiter was friendly and knowledgeable.

I’ve been eating here for quite a while, I have eaten there and gotten togo orders and have never gotten sick. Just make sure to mention your allergy and you should be safe, even the soy sauce made in house is gluten free. And the sushi is absolutely amazing, not cheap but well worth it.

A bit on the pricey side but the quality of the food is excellent. Wait staff were very attentive, and I was told that all of the soy sauce in the restaurant is gluten free.

Items clearly labeled GF. I did bring my own coconut amino acid though because I didn’t know if they had GF, soy free alternatives. It wasn’t a problem to bring my own.

the flavors are always wonderful. I am GF and I can't have soy or ginger. This restaurant will accommodate my restrictions.

our favorite sushi in Houston. they are very attentive to Celiac, and careful with cross contamination. make sure to tell them you havw Celiac. The soy sauce on the table is now GF. it is amazing and fresh. never been sick from there
