I ordered a cappuccino, and prefaced the entire meal telling the waiter I had a gluten allergy. I’m celiac but most people understand allergy better.
They brought out the cappuccino and it had a biscotti on the plate. I asked if it was gluten free and the waiter proceeded to say, let me check. He then took it to the bar and then threw it away (the biscotti, not the drink) and brought back the same cup. I said that would most likely make me sick and asked politely if he could have it remade. 20 minutes later, they brought another one out. It was cold and had cookie crumbs on the plate. When I asked for a manager, she proceeded to tell
Me that the cappuccino machine was right next to a lot of cookie crumbs including Oreos and there was not way of preventing that. She said they were definitely not a gluten free kitchen and that the potential for all of their food had a high risk of cross contamination. She was haughty and rude about it without apology.
I was so disappointed after reading all of the great reviews. I had eaten a few bites of my gluten free fried steak and now my stomach is killing me. Definitely saddened by this turn of events. Eat at your own risk.
