I ate there for dinner and will say that I do have other dietary restrictions other than gluten free. The staff were accommodating and friendly and did put in effort. However, the menu is not marked and I asked multiple times, including calling ahead, what was gluten free and was given a short, vague list each time. As I started ordering my food, they had to go back and check for every item, each of which was not gluten free. In the end, the raw fish options were the only gluten free options which is not what had initially been communicated. They do have gluten free soy sauce which costs an extra dollar. I have celiac but don’t have consistent symptoms so no way to really know about safety.

Love this place, they know what has gluten in it. They have gf alternative dressing for the salad & gf soy sauce, which is amazing. What I normally order does come with miso soup and salad and they were sweet enough to tell me the soup has gluten when they noticed I asked for gf soy sauce. My boyfriend can have gluten so I usually just give it to him. I don't care for the gf dressing alternative, but that's a personal preference, I'm sure someone else would enjoy. I was just so impressed they took it seriously. I've order from them many times and have never gotten sick from sneaky gluten.

Momo is the best sushi place within 30 miles, hands down, next to Sushi Taro. The quality of the sushi is incredible, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about gluten in their food, and it's located in a fantastic part of Alexandria; also happens to be next door to Bilbo Baggins if there is a wait. I recommend the Salmon special and the seaweed salad. The downstairs seating is my preference due to being less cramping but the upstairs is also nice. I will definitely be visiting again. tl;dr - great location, great sushi, have the salmon special, very good about gluten and allergies, will definitely visit again
