They had a gluten free menu which was nice. I explained to my waitress that it was an allergy and she said she understand and would let them know. I got the Alice springs chicken and mashed potato’s and ceasar salad off of the GF menu. When my salad came it had croutons. I explained it was supposed to be gluten free and they brought me a “new” one. I’m not sure if I was just the same salad that they picked the croutons off of or if some other part of the food was contaminated but I was sick all night and into the next day. I would suggest people with celiacs stay away from this location. Allergies may not be taken seriously here

Update: We have been several times in the last year since my original review. I've been safe every single time, no matter the meal I order. We ate at this particular location a few months back and somewhere along the line, I consumed gluten, as evidenced by my quick body response. We went back a week or so ago and I had my staple (Alice Springs chicken) and an alcoholic beverage (of which I did copious phone/Internet research because I'm one of those that can't have distilled beverages if the starting grain is gluten-containing). I'm happy to say I was not cross-contaminated this visit and our waitress took excellent care of me. Outback is almost always a safe place for me to eat and instances of contamination are very few for me. If I'd gotten sick a second time here, I probably wouldn't go back.

After grilling the waitress, I can tell you that the following seems to be regular practice: gluten free food is prepped in separate area, separate containers of butter are used, grill space is separate or cleaned prior to cooking. I had a complicated order, which came out exactly right and was delicious as well. A good experience.
Yes
They were great about watching for cross contamination and brought my plate out separately from my family's. They didn't really have many menu options that weren't steak, but I ordered the grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, and side Ceasar salad. The food was really bland, and the mashed potatoes were worse than school lunches in the 80s. They were flavorless, almost translucent, and disappointing. The chicken was decent but not my favorite. I had better food at another steakhouse chain.

Outback as a chain has always been safe for me. I order the grilled chicken on the barbie with double veggies and have never had a reaction, including at this location!

I ate here twice while I was in town. They note the GF allergy for the kitchen and when they bring it to the table the server knew it was designated GF

The staff were not too familiar but answered my questions and helped me order a safe dish.
