Called in a curbside pick up order so my husband could grab it on the way home. Asked if they could prevent cross-contamination as I have Celiac. The guy taking the order said that they know all about how to avoid that & would mark our order “gluten allergy” to be sure it was safe. I ordered the 6 oz sirloin & shrimp, mashed potatoes, & a house salad w/ranch. My husband got an 11 oz center cut sirloin, mashed potatoes, & fresh veggies. They left the croutons off of my salad for me, packaged everything carefully, & didn’t give my husband bread to be on the safe side. When he picked it up, they explained the lack of bread & told him they could package some up for him separately if he wanted.

I was assured by the waitress that they were super careful and I had nothing to worry about. Also going as far as to say there was a manager on the line. First, my salad came out with one crouton which the waitress actually caught and let me know there was a new girl on salads and she would make sure there were full precautions taken. The new salad came out looking fine. Then I got my food which they did not do correctly because I ordered the streak and shrimp but the shrimp were missing. She went to the back to have it fixed and the shrimp came out on a big piece of rye bread (off the line with a manager take in mind!). I told her I didn’t want them or anything else and let my husband (non-celiac) finish the steak I had on my plate. I’m now writing this sick AF an hour after my horrible experience. DO NOT TRUST THEM! I’ve eaten at many Outback’s and have never had an issue until now. Very disappointed and feeling quite horrible on my 2 1/2 hr drive home after this experience. I almost never eat out for this reason, I just wanted to feel normal with my family for once... ugh.

Manager assured us proper precautions are taken, and that the cross contamination disclaimer in the gluten free menu was for the restaurant chain in general. Speak to a manager at each Outback you dine at.

Been here twice and always had a pleasant experience.

They were great about watching for cross contamination and brought my plate out separately from my family's. They didn't really have many menu options that weren't steak, but I ordered the grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, and side Ceasar salad. The food was really bland, and the mashed potatoes were worse than school lunches in the 80s. They were flavorless, almost translucent, and disappointing. The chicken was decent but not my favorite. I had better food at another steakhouse chain.

Outback as a chain has always been safe for me. I order the grilled chicken on the barbie with double veggies and have never had a reaction, including at this location!

I ate here twice while I was in town. They note the GF allergy for the kitchen and when they bring it to the table the server knew it was designated GF
