They can’t guarantee non gluten free items are put in the frier and they grill non gluten free beef on the same grill as all the other meat. Didn’t end up getting anything.

Talked to my waiter and she brought the GF menu. She sent the manager out and they double checked my selection of enchiladas with the cook. They decided safe except for cohost cheese on top might have cross contamination. Cheese Enchiladas and beans and rice were awesome. Good margaritas too.

Offers gluten free items. Very understanding and willing to take precautions for cross contamination (changing gloves, etc). Food is pretty good too.

I just went there and informed them I had celiac and asked what I could eat. I was told they cross contaminate everything and there is nothing there safe to eat. Walked down to Pappas Burgers, because I know I can eat there. Very disappointing.

The practices of each Pappasito’s location vary based on their kitchen space, so check with the cashier. Mine was VERY knowledgeable and helpful. Here is what she told me (Hobby airport location):
1) grilled chicken is good. you can do tacos, or fajitas but sub for corn tortillas (default is flour). That is what I did!
2) enchilada sauce has gluten and tortillas are dipped in flour... yikes
2) steak marinade is also NOT gf
4) rice and beans are fine
5) she claimed they don’t cross-contaminate the chips “any more” - I was reluctant to trust this so I passed on chips
6) they CAN flag it as an allergy for the kitchen, so ask them to do that. When I picked up the order the cook also confirmed it for me!
Oh and it’s Delicious!! Best airport food!

This restaurant is in Houston Hobby airport behind the security checkpoints. I told the cashier that I needed gluten free and he told me choices and also got the manager to explain exactly what options were available. The fryer is shared so I could not have the chips. However, I did have queso with corn tortillas as well as tacos and both were great. No issues and staff was great.

Cashier was very knowledgeable and even made the kitchen double aware. Great, especially at an airport!
Imagine my thrill at being able to eat breakfast at an airport. They have breakfast tacos and if you tell them that you cannot eat gluten, not only do they make them on corn tortillas, but the staff changes their gloves and take extra precautions so that they are safe. I tested my bacon egg and cheese tacos with my Nima sensor, and everything came back good.

Staff was very knowledgeable about GF options and food was very good.
Yes
Staff was knowledgeable and recognized a possible allergy as soon as I started asking for corn tortillas. There are 2 locations within the airport.
No
Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly!
Had the chips since I am not celiac - just gluten sensitive - and usually can have chips and salsa. Had a reaction.
Cashier was knowledgeable on gluten free options.
Asked about GF items, was warned about the high chance of cross contamination. I didn't bother adding that I also can't have dairy. I chose not to risk it.
No
Very understanding. They really go above and beyond to make sure your meal is GF.
Yes
gluten free menu and amazing breakfast platter. i adore breakfast tacos. they mark gf dishes when they come out with a little pick that says "prepared gluten free".
Yes
Awesome tasty food. Good service. The gluten free options were explained to me. They left out cheese to accommodate my dairy allergy.
Yes
excellent food! the server was very knowledgeable. he saw I had the gluten free menu and immediately said he'd get me special chips (the ones on the table had a shared fryer). the food is truly excellent. highly recommend!

Both times I've ordered here, the staff has been very knowledgeable about what is safe and what could be cross contaminated. They tell me up front that they will change their gloves instead of me having to ask.
Helpful, knowledgable service and a good meal.
The chef was very knowledgable but the server was not. She told me the chips were safe but they were not! Other than that, the manager and chef came to talk to me to confirm my dietary needs. The food was very good.
Amazed to find a great GF place like this in the airport! Super knowledgable about what I can order (even knew I couldn't have the tortilla chips bc they're fried in common oil). She even went and got the manager to confirm everything was GF and he assumed me it will be prepared on a dedicated area with clean utensils- I think the manager actually prepared it himself! Only one/ two GF options, but that's better than none. And the service was amazing.
Extremely knowledgeable about celiac. They warned their fajitas were marinaded in soy sauce. Extremely impressed, especially for an airport!
Yes
Hard to find gluten free meal at Houston airport. This place was good. The girl new what I could and couldn't order. The rice and beans are gluten free and good!! Also they have yummy corn tacos with shredded chicken or beef. Both gluten free :)
It was very good. Seems like she knew what she was doing. Don’t bother with the baked chips though. they’re just kind of disgusting. The enchiladas were very good. I recommend it for people who like Mexican food

There was a separate gluten free menu. Our waitress addressed my questions and concerns. My food came out on a special plate with a sign indicating that it was gluten free. It was good and I did not feel ill afterwards and I am pretty sensitive.

We had the best experience here. They have a gluten free menu. When our waitress took our order and noticed my menu she said she would notify her manager. They were super careful my plate was even marked. I felt completely safe and actually normal. I was recently diagnosed so this was a huge deal!

Pleasantly surprised. They have a separate gluten free menu with a few apps, 5-6 entrees, and ice cream for dessert. They also made me gluten free chips and salsa, not made in same fryer. For my dinner I got cheese enchiladas which were delicious. The meals my family got ( not restricted) looked amazing. We had great server and the manager assured the kitchen would be attentive to avoid cross contamination. Also, the atmosphere is very cheerful and inviting. Had no reaction after eating there.
