Potatoes separately fried, they say, but then told me their pretzels are in it. Not celiac safe.

I tried ordering food there, but was told by the lactose free manager that he would not trust the food because they did not have any safe handling protocols. When I asked for an allergy menu, it did not have wheat or gluten on it. The manager was very nice and honest, and said the food comes from the Point Loma location but chances of cross contamination is high since they do not concern themselves with gluten free labelling or anything at the airport location.

Cashier was super helpful! Fries are not safe but got a side of pulled pork and a side of chicken chucks! So nice to be able to eat at an airport and this was the least expensive meal my whole trip!

Had a great experience. Explained to the cashier I have celiac and he noted it on the ticket so those handling my food would change their gloves and he said they have a dedicated fryer for their fries. Had the ribs and fries and no reaction! Solid food!

Very friendly. Staff stated fries are shared (11/17/23) so I had a burger with no bun and a pickle for the side.

I’m a very sensitive Celiac and rarely risk eating away from my home. I was looking for something safe at the San Diego airport, however. Based off reviews on the app, I gave this place a go. The cashier was incredibly helpful and kind, and offered me an allergen binder explaining everything. I had a side of beef and some fries. BBQ sauce was gluten free, as well. He double confirmed all my questions about cross contamination and allergen protocols and whether the fryer was in fact safe. I also had a bite of my companions baked beans! Everything was safe and I am happy to say I’m now on board my flight home, full, and did not get sick.

I am celiac and did not feel sick after the food at all. The staff have a table with all the gluten items identified. I got the chicken sandwich without a bun and fries (cooked in a different fryer) and wasn’t sick at all! Great food

I’m a super sensitive Celiac! I read that the fries were in a shared fryer. But the staff assured me that was not the case. They were very knowledgeable and friendly! A definite stop if your in the San Diego airport!

I checked before I ordered: the fryer is SHARED with the breaded onion rings. Also don’t be a dummy like me and remember that most of the meats/menu options are on sandwiches so when you order, order without the bread!

It’s exciting to see gluten/dairy free options and a clear allergen menu. There is a dedicated fryer for fries and a good majority of options are gluten free!

Great options and knowledgeable staff. There menu is almost all gluten free. I did three item and two side plate.
Are here while waiting for a flight and had a good experience. They told me onion rings ARE in the same fryer is French fries, which appears to be a recent change.
I ordered the chicken and slaw with no fries. They marked my order with an allergy and promised to change their gloves. It tasted great and I didn’t get sick. Not a gluten free environment, but I had good luck.

Unfortunately, I just asked about the dedicated fryer and the onion rings that are breaded now go in the fryer too.

I read the reviews for this spot and was excited to try since it seemed safe. I ordered the chicken, fries, and coleslaw. The person ringing me up made pulled out the allergen menu as I compared with what people had wrote to decide on my order. I asked if the fries were in a separate fryer and they reassured me. They also informed the cooks the order was for a celiac. Unfortunately I’m having a reaction and regretting eating there. Dine with caution!

Took my son who has celiac. We ordered fries because it said separate frier. They came out and talked to us and said they just weren’t confident in the separate frier. Sad that he couldn’t get the fries but they definitely took things serious for us and protected his health. He still had a reasonable meal with chicken and coleslaw.

Got the fries and chikless with BBQ sauce. The sauce is a bit hot and spicy if you are used to plain gluten free food.

Double checked that the fries were fried by themselves & an employee checked in the allergen book that the ribs and fries were safe and wheat free. 24 hours later and no reaction.

Based on other reviews, I traipsed across the terminal to check them out. Did not disappoint! Fries in a dedicated fryer with rice oil. Ribs are tender, they will put the sauce on the side for you to be sure no cross contamination. Fries, pickle and coleslaw are also dairy free. So happy to eat a real meal at the airport

Amazing find in the airport. I got the Chckless dinner (boneless checken breast) and a double order of fries from their dedicated fryer. It was very good!

The employee I spoke to was very knowledgable and knew what was safe and what was not. I had the ribs, coleslaw and fries. Nothing with gluten goes into the frier so the fries are good to eat!
The food was delicious, really flavorful.
If you're worried about CC this is the only restaurant in terminal 2 you'll be eating at.

We would have enjoyed and considered our meal totally delicious even outside an airport but a complete surprise within. Approaching San Diego ‘s terminal 2 gate 40 we recognized what smelled like real BBQ. We chanced it and wet thrilled. Plus, they are knowledgeable about celiac disease and assured me they have a dedicated fryer for the French fries and their BBQ sauce is gluten free. Lastly, their seating area is widely spaced and airy. Highly recommended.

Great tasting food but turns out the fries aren’t really safe even in the dedicated fryer because they combine oil at end of day. I ate the sausage and beans and they were delicious!

The best fries! Dedicated fryer.

I was told nothing was gluten free when I went to the counter.

When I said I had a gluten allergy, the cashier cheerfully told me that their sauce is gf and they could make anything for me, save for the mac and cheese. The fryer is dedicated to fries, so it's safe. They preemptively offered to change gloves and everything.
