Little fancy, got the shrimp creole and it was good, 6 large shrimp. Tasted good!

The server informed me that the chef has celiac and every entree is GF! What a treat! I had a salad and entree with fish and shrimp. Everything was very tasty. I didn’t realize when making a reservation that this is right on bourbon street. I would probably not return for that reason but the food was excellent.

The waitress was amazing. As soon as I said I was celiac she explained I could have anything marked GF on the menu and it would be cooked separately. I had the fried cod bites for an app and the chicken with beans and corn bread, which the waitress noted was also safe. It was so much food I had to take half the chicken to go. Very yummy and reasonable. Great service. Many safe options.

Went here two different nights and the second night was definitely better. We had a waiter who informed me the chef was celiac and they could make most dishes gluten free. Ended up getting the special which was delicious and the pumpkin spice crème brûlée without the wafer!

Had a great experience here! Our server Frank was lovely, quite a few options and very tasty food! Our server brought out the dessert menu and advised me of how they could adjust each to be GF for me. We ended up getting the cobbler and it was Delish!
I got the bbq shrimp starter, redfish and crab main and the shrimp and grits to share with my sister - we loved it all! Sooooo delicious!

Here now and it has been a terrible experience. Server didn't understand GF despite labels on the menu, told us we could not have things labeled GF. They brought out crostini and said it was GF- it wasn't. Then ordered a dish labeled GF and they only sent out half of the components. Must have gone down hill since other reviews.

No gluten free menu but the waitress was super helpful and able to point out everything on the menu I could have. She also checked with the kitchen about dessert. I had the redfish for dinner and a pumpkin spice crème brûlée that was delicious!

If you are visiting New Orleans I highly recommend this location. Food was delicious. I recommend the swordfish ceviche and house red fish signature dish. As mentioned in other reviews the chef and staff are very familiar with GF safety. Although They don’t have a GF menu the server was familiar of all items that were GF and very attentive to mitigate any cross contamination.

Had the blackened gulf catch, some raw oysters, and mango crème brûlée. They were all delicious! The staff let me know that one of the chefs has celiac so they take gluten allergies seriously. No reactions.

The food was amazing! They had GF fried oysters which was a huge treat. Chris the chef has celiac so I felt very confident that our food was safe. Will definitely be back the next time I’m in town!

We ate here mid March and everything was terrific! Love the decor, ambiance, the bar area, the service, and the food. Everyone was very nice and our waiter had an aunt with Celiac disease, so he understood all about cross contamination. He made a few recommendations from their standard dinner menu and made clear what was off limits for Celiacs. The food was delicious. We all ordered different dishes and we all loved what we got. I’m not a fan of Bourbon Street, but would still frequent this establishment if I lived in or near NOLA. I will absolutely return to Redfish, next time I’m in town. So good.

Review written several days later -no reaction. In town for conference and this was one of few restaurants open late. Has the Red Fish with mashed potatoes and collard greens. Flavor of everything was great. They have a GF menu, need to ask.

Awesome service, while there’s no GF items marked, both the hostess on the phone and the waiter for our table could name all of the GF items, and knew a few modifications that could also be made to certain items. The waiter also double checked with the chef, and brought back the options for the evening marked on a menu. All entrees were available, and while the Brussels sprouts are the only GF appetizer, they’re fantastic. Great food and atmosphere.

A bit taken aback to be told I couldn't have *any* of the starters.
I ended up risking the Brussels sprouts (fried in a shared fryer) and had the shrimp and grits.
The food is delicious but I may have been unlucky as I didn't find the waiter helpful at all.

Fabulous food, plenty of gluten free offerings, if you ask. We were told the chef has celiac, always feel assured when I hear that. I ordered the catfish fried in cornstarch, it was better than how I remember it pre diagnosis.

I called ahead to see what GF options they had the manager put me on hold to confirm with the kitchen. Said they did get a gf bread delivery that morning and will take extra precautions preparing my food. Went to the restaurant and ordered and explained that I have CD again and ordered my lunch. Then I remembered that I didnt adk about the fries that came with my meal, 30 seconds later our server came back to inform me the fries are not gf and offered me a side salad or potato salad. Overall a great experience.

I really enjoyed this place! Great atmosphere and plenty of options! Waiter was knowledgeable about what I could have! Great noise level....music with conversation....not too loud! Tables weren't crammed in so we had space and didn't feel like we were sitting with strangers🤣. Prices were as expected! Portions were good sized! Will definitely return!

The staff was extremely knowledgeable about what was and was not gluten free. I ate the Shrimp and Grits and they were so good! He didn’t even put the bread in front of me to tempt me :) I would really recommend this place
Stopped in for dinner during Mardi Gras. They were sampling some non-GF amuse Bouche and the server brought me a little GF bite instead. Only a couple of the appetizers are GF, but most of the main dishes are safe. We had the fish and asparagus with hollandaise, and it was divine! The server was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
Yes
They don’t have a Gluten Free menu but the staff is knowledgeable. I had the best shrimp and greens. I like it a little spicy and this was ext!
Nothing is marked GF on the menu but when I asked our server Lyn, she was knowledgeable and helpful. I got shrimp and grits and it was so flipping good. Awesome atmosphere, good drinks, good time. It was a pretty penny but worth it, especially if you love grits. :)
I had the salad with walnuts, apples, dressing and the jambalaya. Both were outstanding! Wait staff was very knowledgeable too! Great place for awesome dinner!
Yes
Their lunch menu GF options are very limited, but I got a salad with shrimp, crawfish, and remoulade dressing that was HUGE and very good. Their smoky Paloma is also excellent. I would go for dinner though, she said I’m the choices are less limited.
Yes
We went here for dinner, and then lunch before we left Nola. Dinner had more choices. They are not marked, but the waiter, Ike, knew everything that was GF at dinner. He was great. You can ask for him. I had a house salad and red fish entree. It was really good. For lunch, I made my own meal with basically the same thing - house salad with red fish on top. It ended up being $27 for the salad!! I didn’t ask what it would cost when I ordered though. I’m not sure if I would have done anything differently due to the limited options. It was delicious but pricey.

Waiter pointed me to some good menu options for me. The wood grilled fish and one of the risotto dishes were safe for celiacs. I ate without getting sick. Good food.
Yes
Very limited menu options however the staff were incredibly knowledgeable and were even willing to help me create a non menu, celiac friendly option.
Yes
Two things to eat at lunch waitress had no idea
Accommodating to celiacs. Good food
Waiter didn’t seem confident in what I could eat and acted annoyed. Ordered shrimp which came out dry and chewy. Definitely not worth the money.
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff! Fantastic and delicious food :)

My wife and I were here last night and enjoyed our meal very much. I have Celiac and need to be careful of cross contamination. Last night I had the Redfish with a rosemary worcestershire sauce, which was amazing and I didn’t get sick. Our waitress Sherri was quite knowledgeable and was able to very quickly state what was or wasn’t GF.
Last night was so good we had to come back again tonight. Tonight I have the shrimp and grits which were also AMAZING. We even got the locally made sorbet and it was wonderful. Our server tonight (Cherie) spilled my wine on the floor (about 1/4 glass) and quickly replaced it without and question.
I would highly recommend this place to anybody.
Yes
Their menu is not marked, but there is a note indicating that you can speak to your server about GF options. The staff were friendly and fairly knowledgeable. I got the Grilled Red Fish and Crawfish dish and didn't have any issues even though I'm very sensitive. Other reviews had mentioned that they have GF peanut butter pie, but I was told that none of the desserts are GF except the sorbet. Their Gator Bite cocktail is delicious though!
Very limited choices for lunch.
Pick this one! Radically delicious and SAFE!
Yes
Phenomenal! Our bartender Josh was well-versed in GF items. No GF menu but everything except the fried foods and soups can be prepared GF. I had the half-chicken with dirty rice and pontabla potatoes (WHICH WAS AMAZING!!). The aoli that you pour on the chicken was sooooo good.
My fiancé ordered the redfish which was outstanding as well. I hate seafood and I tried it - not fishy at all!! The flavors in both dishes were amazing.
We plan on going back for the atmosphere, service, and of course, THE FOOD!
Yes
great food and service. Nima tested the jambalaya as well as the GF peanut butter pie for dessert. All safe. They also offer a wide variety of fish, seafood, shrimp and grits, etc.
Yes
very good and celiac safe. got the half chicken without corn bread. Great food and knowledgeable staff
Wonderful service and knowledgeable. No GF menu but takes care of you.
No gluten free menu but server was knowledgeable about options on the menu which were plentiful: all salads could be modified (all dressings are GF), wood fired grill options, pork chop, steak, and a few appetizer options. Wasn't offered dessert but a peanut butter pie was marked GF on the dessert menu. Complimentary bread was not GF and no sub offered. I ate red fish with crab meat with potato hash and the bean salad as an app. Both excellent!
