Reelfish’s fryers are dedicated so all of the fried seafood, french fries, hush puppies, and even fried chicken that they do is safe. They once mentioned a head chef having celiac so they have the gluten items separate in their kitchen. I’ve generally had great luck with them when it comes to safety and I’ve never been sick, though one time I found something I could not identify in my salad (Caesar with no croutons). It was takeout on a busy night and I was already home when I made the discovery so I just didn’t eat it to be safe. I don’t think it was gluten-y but never got around to saying something to them about it so I never found out for sure.
Everything I’ve had on their menu has been tasty including the chicken which seems crazy for a seafood place. The only things I can’t recommend are the po’ boy and the lobster roll. The fillings were just fine but the gf bread they used was heinous. Flavorless, dry, cardboard-y. I’d sooner order without bread and stop by the grocery store to get an udi’s hotdog bun to put it in (and I don’t really love the udi’s buns either haha).
