This review is for SILO Terrace Oyster Bar. I called before we went, and asked about their allergen protocols in the kitchen. They assured me that they could handle a gluten allergy safely. When we arrived, I informed my server of my allergy. I don’t know if he didn’t take me seriously or didn’t properly notify the kitchen, or if there are cross-contact issues in the kitchen, but unfortunately I did get sick after eating there. I know it was from this meal because it is the only restaurant I ate at that week, and my home is dedicated gluten free. When I called to notify a manager afterward about the issue, I don’t feel that there was appropriate sincerity in the apology, nor did he seem motivated to revamp their kitchen protocols to prevent this problem from occurring again.

Gotta love when the kitchen says, “we can make almost any dish gluten free,” though most of them are already. I have gotten so used to places having little to no options, it is so nice to find a place that is accommodating. Also the signature dessert is a coconut cream pie (I, of course, assumed I couldn’t have it) but the crust is macadamia nuts! Food was excellent, will definitely be back soon!

Typically have several gluten free items. Had two grilled fish with mixed veggies, asparagus and 1 beef GF. I had red snapper. Our waitress, Michaela, was gluten free and very helpful. Food is great. Is an upscale restaurant, so higher prices.
