The Botanist has an interactive allergen menu, meaning you can access it on your device and select the relevant allergens so you only see dishes you can eat. This is a good idea, because you don't have to then negotiate with the wait staff about what can and can't be made free-from.
The only downside to this is that, for the allergens we have, the options are then quite limited.
We picked the Salt and Pepper Pork Belly Hanging Kebab and the Lamb and Mint Pie (all their pies are gluten free!), both of which were excellent. Two slight criticisms with the pie as served: the sides of mashed potatoes and mushy peas were rather paltry, so I ended up adding an additional side of Creamed Cabbage with Smoked Bacon, also very tasty, if rather on the salty side, also, I'm not convinced that the gravy wasn't from a packet.
Otherwise, good atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff and a good dinner.
