What a splurge for me and my wife! We wanted to end our vacation in England with an afternoon tea, and we went all out and got a table the The Lanesborough. One of the reasons we chose it was because it was recommended by several sources as a place where a person with coeliac disease can also truly enjoy the experience. Those recommendations were not wrong - almost every treat was also offered in a gluten free variation, and each was delicious. The staff seemed very aware of cross-contamination issues too, providing separate jars of jelly, butter and other wonderful spreads and regularly providing detailed information about ingredients. The venue was like a scene in a Victorian movie, and the service was so good that it actually was a little uncomfortable. The overall experience was quite expensive, but it was a lovely afternoon.

AMAZING GLUTEN FREE Afternoon Tea!! The staff is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about gluten free options and they take every precaution to ensure there is no cross-contamination. I made the Celiac designation in my reservation for afternoon tea and the staff was prepared to serve me gluten free sandwiches, scones, and dessert. Amazing afternoon tea experience!!

They have a gluten free menu for their Afternoon Tea. For a 5 star hotel, the staff was attentive and seemed like they were taking all the precautions. Nope!!! Severely glutened!!! Word of caution to Celiacs, as it was not safe!
