I’m so glad we got to eat here! It’s a dedicated GF restaurant that currently has a stall located in a neighborhood market. The food is delicious and the staff are incredibly kind. We tried the chicken and waffles as well as the quesadilla. I wish we lived closer so we could go back!

I had to travel to Louisville for work and finding a safe restaurant with GF options has been exhausting. The Silly Axe is a gem of a restaurant and I highly recommend it for anyone in the area who is sensitive to cross contamination. I even went with someone who isn’t gf and he said it was the best food he’s had in Louisville out of all the restaurants we’ve tried.

I have eaten here several times. I highly sensitive and never an issue. Quality and service are excellent!

Was dying to try them tonight, but they closed 20 minutes early….😭
You get the best service when you go during posted hours.

I have traveled to Louisville twice for volleyball tournaments. My daughter is celiac and very sensitive to cross contamination. They are amazing and nothing like it here in Oregon. 100% gluten free and safe.

The silly ax is over an hour from where I live, but the food is so good the time doesn't matter. Staff is wonderful and the food is great. The store is in an awesome location and still 100% Gluten free! I always leave feeling great!

My absolute favorite, safe, GF restaurant. The owner is kind, knowledgeable, and dedicated to safety. Absolutely everything on the menu is GF. I have been gluten free for over 10 years and have not found a better spot than the Silly Axe!

An excellent place to eat at. The staff is really knowledgeable on the gluten free stuff. Really friendly staff and are very patient with deaf people like me. I highly recommend it to anyone.

100% gluten free facility that I have never felt unsafe at! As for other reviews stating inconsistent hours, I follow the shop on social media and know that the owner recently lost her husband to a long fight with cancer, so please show some patience. They’re the best! (Celiac)

Love this dedicated gluten free restaurant! I always make it a point to visit when in the Logan Street Market area. The food is always fresh & delicious! I’m a fan of the Big Axe sandwich, but my daughter always goes for the Chicken Fingers & Fries (a meal that is hard to find GF!) Cake is often available, sold by the slice, so I’m able to walk away with a sweet treat as well! I’d definitely recommend Silly Axe to anyone looking for a safe spot to get a gf meal!

Silly Axe is a gem. A dedicated gluten free facility that serves delicious food. If you want a good meal and complete peace of mind that anything you order is celiac safe then this place should always be your first stop. Highly recommend the biscuits, the BCR and any desert.

Dedicated gluten free restaurant! It’s so exciting to be able to order anything I want on the menu. I love the BCR quesadilla, and all the cakes/desserts!

I have family in southern Indiana and always plan a trip here when I’m visiting them. I’ve never had a bad meal. The owner knows what she’s doing and the food is delicious. It’s a treat to have a meal that I know is safe.

Visited today in the Logan Market the staff is extremely rude and unwelcoming. They kept saying they would open at 11 am, even turned on the open sign, however then they stated they had no supplies and didn't know when they would open. Don't waste your time.

Had absolutely zero vegetarian options. Hours were also wrong. Their website seems to say something about this, but I’d call before to check the hours and don’t go if you don’t eat meat. Really hate to say this about a dedicated gf place, but I’m sure it will get better.

My daughter has celiac and we travel for dance. We have been coming to Silly Axe for the last 4 years during every competition. She loves the food. Especially the chicken tenders.

Chicken and waffles were absolutely amazing! Owner is fantastic and will tell you the best things on the menu (hint: it's all delicious!). Can't wait to come back.

We stopped by on a Tuesday evening. Tracy gave us a free sample of the corn chowder. We ended up getting the corn chowder with chicken on a biscuit, and a hot brown. The food was fantastic. I was scraping the biscuit bits off the bottom of the pan. If we’re ever back in Louisville, we will be back.

Basically moved to Louisville just to eat here every day.
I will say give them some grace as the Owner is going through some terrible times. The last time I went there (February 2nd, 2024) the food was so good! The part time chef they got is definitely an asset. He made the best GF cupcakes I ever had. It really depends on who makes your food as some of the younger people may not have that care of detail.

I was really excited since there were a decent amount of reviews. Unfortunately they close at 7 o’clock not 8 o’clock like is posted on Google and their website. the owner was still there so I was able to grab a piece of cookie cake and it was delicious. excited to come back here when they’re actually open. Thought I should revise a review here so everyone knows when they actually close so they aren’t disappointed that they can’t grab dinner. It’s a very cool space so I’m excited about trying it again when I’m back in town.

I hate being negative about a 100% gf restaurant. But the food was flavorless, even the bacon had no flavor. The waffle wasn’t cooked all the way. A waffle should be crispy around the edges. Fries were not cooked well either. I asked for salt for fries and at first they couldn’t find any.

I got the fried chicken with a biscuit on the side and it was delicious!

Loved this spot! Best French fries I’ve had since I was diagnosed 7 years ago. Lightly seasoned without being overpowering-and crispy! The double decker sandwich was good, and the bread was amazing. Held together and tasted like real bread!
I thought the staff was very nice, so I’m not sure about the other reviews.

We went there with high expectations but left disappointed. The waffles were very chewy and they told us they couldn’t figure out the batter. The chicken fingers had no taste. There were no cinnamon rolls that were listed on the menu. Maybe it was off day for them. The staff was not very friendly and it seems like they didn’t want to be there

A bit of a disappointment every time I go. Being one of the only gluten free safe places in town I’ve wanted to like this place. I’ve ordered chicken and waffles multiple times and every time they’re dry and lacking in flavor. I feel like the ones I can cook in the oven from Kroger taste better... I’ve also called before with questions and have been met with rude entitled responses. They mostly offer heat up/to go food and over charge for it. Gluten free food is more expensive and I have never had a problem spending money on these things… When the food is worth it. Unfortunately theirs has continued to disappoint every time I give it a chance. Maybe it’s time to change up the menu or take more time improving the things they do sell because it seems to be thrown together and lacking anything special.

5 stars! Located in refurbished building. Plenty of street parking. Excellent food! Great menu, absolutely delicious!!! Celiac safe! They even have a safe counter space to eat at. Every thing was very fresh. We also enjoyed all of the other vendors in the building.

OMG delicious food!! I hear so much about chicken and waffles sandwiches and could never eat one at various establishments near my home in NC. Silly Axe had a variety of chicken & waffle sandwiches. My food was ready promptly and delicious. Service and cleanliness were excellent. If only the cafe wasn’t 9 hours away, I’d be back again today.

Our experience here was wonderful! My Daughter is celiac and they did a fine job preparing our lunch. Everything was hot & fresh! My Daughter got chicken tenders & fries. I ordered the CBR (chicken bacon ranch) flatbread and it was AMAZING!! Definitely worth the stop!!

I came to the new location in Logan Street Market, Wednesday 8:15am and there wasn’t one person there to open the spot. It looked as if when they left, they left everything as is, dirty dishes, prep from Saturday? I don’t know but I was really let down on my experience.

Food was good, but set your expectations before going. The menu on line is completely inaccurate. They only have a few items on their actual menu and on the Friday when I went at lunch, they were out of some items on the limited menu. Only one person was working, so it took forever to get the food. Waffles were soggy and eggs were rubbery (both precooked who knows when). Chicken was good.

In a super cute market area with neat vendors such as boba tea, or other cuisines. 10/10 recommend, all celiac safe, dedicated gf!! The chicken and waffles were to die for! Will definitely be back before leaving the area!

I had breaded fried chicken tenders that were AMAZING! Way back in the day when I could eat regular chicken tenders ….these gf ones were just like the ones I remember- I really couldn’t believe that these were truly gf - they were that good! The also make wonderful biscuits and the best carrot cake ever! There were other choices, but it was amazing that everything is gf and zero cross contamination issues…. What a remarkable place!!!!

My family recently visited. It’s location is in an extremely neat local market with a laid back vibe. It’s dedicated 100% gluten free so it is Celiac safe. The food was delicious. The waffle sandwich and the bacon chicken wrap were both awesome!! The gluten free chocolate cake was the winner for the day. My daughter who has Celiac Disease was in Heaven eating it. The only down side was the wait. It took a while to get our food; however, they were extremely busy and there was only three of them. We didn’t mind but I wanted to mention in case you are on a time crunch. It is completely worth finding this little gem and enjoying the food without worrying about gluten exposure or cross contamination. We will be visiting again!!!!

Wife is celiac and got the chicken and waffles. She LOVED IT! As a side note, it’s in a market so there are other options to eat at and an area for kids to play, which was awesome because we were in the middle of a 10 hour road trip.

Loved the Nashville hot chicken. Super crispy and great balance between spicy and sweet. My dad isn’t gluten free and he loved the chicken too. Would definitely recommend.

Everything was gluten free. It's 100 percent GF. However, the flavor of most of the food we got was bland and the biscuit was like cardboard and just as thick.
There were very few drink options.
I was excited to go here and let my daughter be able to pick anything, but it just wasn't very tasty.
It is in a huge building with lots of other vendors - in case this info matters.
It was very expensive and rather disappointing.

As advertised, Louisville’s only 100% gluten free dining experience. You can find this gem in the Logan Street Mall. There is 0 gluten in the place so no rush for cross contact. You can take your food order to the nearby bar if you’d like. The dining space right outside the restaurant is a dedicated gluten free zone. Nice touch! I enjoyed the fried chicken with French fries. Delicious!

I hadn’t been to Louisville in years, and was nervous about what options would be available to me. Went to this little food stall in the Logan Street Market, so that my non-GF partner could have more options.
This place blew my socks off. Their Nashville Chicken and Waffles was the chicken and waffles I’ve been dreaming about. The chicken was so. freaking. moist. The fry was so. freaking. crispy. The Nashville hot sauce was unconventional, but it was perfect. Topped with FAT pickles. *chef’s kiss*
But the best part was, trick was on me, many of the other stalls in the market were either GF or had robust GF offerings (arepas, tacos, grits, etc) My partner had sushi, but he regrets not getting the chicken.

Currently offering a limited menu which was disappointing. Fried pickles were a 10/10! Also tried the Nashville hot chicken waffle and chicken tenders and fries. Everything was great! Excited for their full menu to come back.

The breading was light and crispy on their chicken. The beer/cider selection was so good. Worth the drive.

Visited today and was advised that it is not dedicated gluten free - that they do cook gluten items using the same equipment, but clean the equipment between uses. Since the menu didn’t note what items were not gluten free, I ended up passing.

The Silly Little Axe is in a very cute building. It’s store front all though a little quiet because it’s not as busy as the other restaurants around it, is inviting, clean and well advertised. There is inside and outside dinning. You place your order at the counter and then they bring your food to the table. The employees are very friendly. The food came in a reasonable amount of time. Everything was delicious. Our order consisted of: axe hamburger (fresh bun was delicious and it didn’t fall apart, the meat tasted like a fresh patty not frozen and it was served with lettuce and tomato); fried chicken and waffle (the chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, the sauce was on point and the waffle was also very good. It never fell apart.); jerk chicken wrap (it was fried chicken in the jerk sauce wrapped in a tortilla. All three meals ordered had us all loving every bight. The presentation of the food is casual. But the flavors will positively surprise you. We were happy we made the trip over to this place from Louisville. Will return and suggest it to others.
