Zest Bakery

I would love to support a local gluten free establishment, but this business needs to get organized. As others have mentioned, their communication is strongly lacking. We came by at 11:49am on a Friday for my sister’s birthday lunch and for me to enjoy gluten free food while visiting, as I have celiac disease. The only sign on the door mentioned extended hours on 12/24, no other signage posted. Both front and back doors were locked and the open signs were not on. A couple hours into the day I found a closure posted on their Instagram, which wasn’t mentioned at their location, on their website, or in their voicemail message. Two other customers came by while we were outside finding another place to go who also didn’t know they would be closed during their posted open hours. Get it together. Not sure how the business maintains income or a customer base with this lackluster organization and hours - it’s one thing to only be open Friday & Saturday, but at least be open for the times you post or be organized about posting planned closures. What a disappointment.

We stopped at the bakery today to get something to eat. Kids we very happy to get yummy treats. They usually have sandwiches on the menu and in addition to cupcakes, doughnuts, muffins, etc. can take orders for special occasion cakes.

I was excited to find this GF bakery, it's the closest to my home. I was so excited, I bought one of each cupcake, one of each rum cake, one cinnamon bun, and one donut, it was about $53 for about 11 items. The cupcakes were a bit crumy, the fell apart really easily, but they weren't dry, and the frosting had a consistency of buttercream. the donut did not agree with me and upset my digestive system. However the rum cakes were fantastic and I highly recommend them!!!!

The downside is that it is only open 9-2 on Fridays and Saturdays.

Everything is delicious! We especially like the donuts and muffins. Freezes well too.

A friend who can eat gluten told me that my GF birthday cake from Zest (the almond cake) was the best cake he’d ever had. I had to agree! Flavorful, moist, and not too sweet, this cake has the crumb of gluten cakes that I dimly remember.

Dedicated Bakery -- Their hours are limited after the move, but it's worth the hassle. The almond cake is delicious!

This place is so awesome. I love coming here for the turkey cranberry sandwiches and the goodies, like almond tea cakes. I'm doing gluten-free for health reasons (no celiac). It's helped my sister with her migraines, and I'm hoping it will help with mine.

Not my favorite. I do love the almond cake and the cinnamon rolls but the bread is weird tasting IMO and the service is terrible. I prefer the bread from Ducks and Dragon Bakery.

Zest is GREAT ! We were driving through on our way to Big Sur and the woman that helped us gave us great recommendations in the area. Get the lemon poppyseed cake and the almond cakes - they're to die for !

Dedicated facility. Amazing for my family to be able to walk in and pick out anything in the case! They don't have a huge selection of pastries but they also bake to order.

delicious sandwich on Focaccia bread (I chose to build my own). the bread was great -super tasty. The server also gave me a sample of the multigrain bread which scared me it was so good (I thought may e it wasn't gluten. free so I asked - everything is!). Had the "fo-reo" cookie, pretty good, a maple donut which was delicious with a good texture and also the lemon poppy glazed mini loaf for breakfast the following day which was my favorite pastry I tried. Wonderful shop, try it!

I was VERY disappointed because EVERYTHING had potato in it. The food looked beautiful. Everyone seemed to be enjoying it but because I have CD and many allergies including potato I could eat nothing.

Outstanding service and products. I was confused at first cause there were no gluten free labels but everything is gluten free! I had 2 "crest view sandwiches" which were delicious and almost every cake and cookie to take home. Could not be happier!

This place is great. I'm often disappointed with the gluten-free things from Trader Joe's and Safeway, so I was delighted to find a gluten-free bakery that offers so many things I hadn't eaten in years. Their lemon poppy seed loaf is my favorite.

The absolute BEST gf cinnamon roll I've had. I ate the dairy free version and was over the moon. They had donuts too! On Saturdays they like to come up with different recipes. I had what can only be described as almond chocolate greatness.

Favorite gluten-free bakery on either coast! Perfect spot for lunch (their sandwiches are excellent) and a little treat, plus you can pick up pasta or other ingredients for dinner while you're at it. I heart Zest.

We had sandwiches, a muffin and a cookie. The bread was moist but didn't taste that good. The toppings were good. The muffin was very good but the cookie was not. The tables and the dishes were dirty. It was a little disappointing after reading the other reviews.

WOW! This place is amazing!! Less on the desserts such as cupcakes. But they have amazing everything else. The gluten free ice cream cookie sandwiches are great. The also have deli sandwiches custom made and pizza. yum!

Totally gluten free, with the BEST homemade ravioli I've had, ever. Check out their freezer - rav, pizza crusts, pie crusts. WE CAN EAT BAKED GOODS FOREVER.
