Gluten-Free at Nobu

We told them what we wanted and they said what could be gluten free and were willing to modify— like some of the dishes came with crispy stuff or other sauces that weren’t gluten free and made it without. Cross contamination with fried things though (like crispy rice). Great food! Our favorites were the black cod with miso, roasted cauliflower, and spicy scallop roll. Definitely recommend

I came here with my business associates because the reviews said it was safe. I had a reaction on my very first bite after they assured me it was safe. Instead of sharing “gluten free” plates with everyone else, I just ordered sashimi with slices of lemon - which were delicious and fresh. Too bad and too late because now I’m sick and celebrating my birthday no less. I’m so sad and I sincerely hope my reaction is minor since I only had one bite that was clearly cross contaminated. This restaurant is supposed to be one of the best in the world. So disappointed.

This is an AMAZING restaurant! They are super careful with allergies, telling me that each dish they brought to me was gluten and dairy free. While there was no gluten free menu, or marks on the menu, the server was knowledgeable and very helpful. It’s an expensive place, but it’s the best meal I’ve ever eaten and I didn’t get sick!

Fantastic experience… waiter, Salvatore, was extremely knowledgeable about the needs of Coeliacs and ran through entire menu thoroughly explaining which dishes were safe, and the extensive safety process followed by all staff.

Almost everything could be gluten free, and all servers were very knowledgeable. It’s reassuring to hear “gluten free” for every item that was delivered to the table. Highly recommend for a special occasion!

Our server asked immediately if there were any dietary restrictions and was extremely knowledgeable about celiac. She went through the whole menu and pointed out every single item that already was, or could be made, safe for me (there are a LOT) and answered my questions about cross contact risk without batting an eye. And once I had ordered, every person who brought food to our table (several shareables were ordered by my non-celiac family) made a point to say if the dish was safe for me to try or not. I ordered the salmon and ended up trying 3 naturally gluten free desserts. It's pricey, but worth it. Everything was delicious and I didn't get sick.

Came here on a girls trip for dinner. Nobu in nyc takes gluten free very seriously and I was relieved to know they do here as well! Nima tested the cucumber avocado roll, salmon avocado, and tuna cucumber and got all smiles.

If you want expensive safe sushi this is your place. Staff is knowledgeable on cross contamination. They do not have a gluten free menu but waiters can point out safe options and communicate with sushi bar & kitchen. I normally just order from sushi bar so I’m not as aware of the safety of food from kitchen area.

Amazing sushi 🍣 that is made gluten-free, the waiter was able to go over all the options that could be made GF so many choices it was hard to choose. We order 3 different rolls to share and then got the GF lava chocolate cake with green tea ice cream was a great finish to amazing meal.

I went for an event and there was a preplanned menu. Before bringing out the food, our waiter went around to each person and asked if there were any allergies. I told him I would be eating GF. He checked if it was an allergy or dietary and if CC was ok. For the next 2.5 hours, he made it his personal mission to serve me. Each time a dish was brought out, he would come to me and tell me if it was GF or not. If it wasn't, he would bring me my own version of it or a different GF dish. The food was delicious! The things that I ate that were made GF were: edamame, salmon skewers, sea bass mango miso, seasonal vegetables, beef tenderloin, assorted nigiri and rolls, mochi. Possibly the best GF experience that I have ever had a restaurant!!!

The staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. I’m celiac and they have a ton of gluten free options. This is the place to eat safely while eating the best sushi around. Get the Matteo - gluten free! It’s amazing.

Ok so to Clarify. They are NOT a gluten free restaurant and don't have a gluten free menu. They are just able to make most of the menu to be gluten free. The staff and chefs are super knowledgable about gluten and know what is safer to have than others. I was told to stay away from the tacos by the chef. Very unique and fancy dining experience!
