Has a gf menu online, speaker sucks so the cashier helping us had trouble hearing us. I am also dairy free and had the pollo bowl.

Dedicated gluten free menu on website, not in store. Staff was not knowledgeable. But ingredients are simple and listed under each menu item.
Tasty, juicy chicken. We had the bowls. No complaints.

Picked up takeout today, first time to eat here since celiac diagnosis. Hard to find their GF info online but finally found a link after I clicked on a menu item. Warns there’s no dedicated kitchen or cross contamination protection but much of their menu is listed as GF. Chicken and most sides are on the GF list as is the milky drink horchata! Here’s the GF link as of 9-9-2022: https://www.elpolloloco.com/content/pdfs/epl_gluten_info_mod_4_2022_hr-1.pdf

Absolutely nothing is safe here! Street tacos are in flour tortillas. Avoid this place!

Manager told me nothing on menu is gluten free. We left without eating.

Yummy gluten free options! I get their nachos and sometimes we get the family pack of chicken, rice and beans. Recently they added birria tacos to their menu and they are delicious and 100% gluten-free the sauce on the side is too! I recommend this place 100% if you are craving Mexican food that’s quick and easy to get. I’ve never had to ask them to tell the cook that I have an allergy all items that I listed are just naturally gluten-free and I have tested all the products with my nima sensor!

Best tasting chicken in town. Consistently good very affordable.
Best deal around on the $5 menu! My favorite is the 3 tacos al carbona combo, it come with corn tortilla chips and a drink. The tacos are grilled chicken with fresh cilantro and onions. So yummy!

The current gf menu at El Pollo Loco is found at https://www.elpolloloco.com/our-food/gluten-information.html. I've never been glutened when I have stuck to this list. I typically enjoy a Chicken Double Bowl with Loco Side Salad with Creamy Cilantro Dressing and Chips and Guacamole. This location has been very reliable and knowledgeable.

So so so good! I’m in love with the tacos 3 for 5$ that’s with chips and a drink! Also the polo bowl is gf and on the 5$ menu! There family home chicken meals are great as long as you get the Gf sides. This place is yummy!
Yes
the employees where kind , but the food was definitely cross contaminated .
No
They created a separate area for my food, used clean gloves, utensils, and new tubs of ingredients to decrease the chance of cross contamination. I got the Double Chicken Avocado Salad and just used a dressing from home to be 100% safe. Their dressing is gf though. Definitely a great drive thru option.
Yes
The staff didn’t know but online they had listed lots of ingredients that are gluten free.
Food is good, but they do not have any separate prep areas for food. Their website specifically says they are not celiac friendly.
No
Totally hit or miss with the staff knowing about gf. Food not that great either.

Great for something quick & yummy. My son has Celiac & had no issues. Chicken, rice, beans, corn tortillas all good.šš¼

Ordered the Pollo bowl and had no issues afterwards. Food is okay to good, but I will give five stars because there aren’t too many GF options in the area and it’s nice to not get sick!
It’s really good and they try, but I have two out of two times found noodles or something not gluten free in my side and it makes me sick

They have a GF menu online. I always get the chicken and corn tortillas. They do have a lot of options. I don’t know how knowledgeable the staff is, but I’ve never asked and have just ordered from the GF menu. I’ve seen the chicken prepared, and I think if you get chicken and corn tortillas, there is little risk of cross contamination. I’ve never felt sick after eating there. I have celiac disease.
Yes
They at least have a list of foods with gluten-free ingredients

My son had the kids combo- chicken leg and rice. Both tested celiac safe in our Nima sensor. We were so relieved and delighted!
Clean and fresh cooking. Gluten free menu options. Celiac friendly. Grilled chicken, rice, pintos, etc.
Yes
An employee stated all menu items are gluten free except flour tortillas.
Love, love, love this place! We have been going here as long as I can remember, ( my family and I have been gluten free for 22+ years) and we always order either the pollo bowl or tacos al carbon no problem.
Full gluten free menu! All their chicken is gluten free, a lot of side options!
Yes
They use shared equipment and don't use clean knives to chop up your food. I would not recommend for anyone who is a celiac.

Very helpful people when asking about gluten.

The thing is with a lot of these food chains is that there will be cross contamination, so if you are diagnosed with celiac, I would stay away. The rice has has traces of gluten in it, but the chicken is GF as far as I know. If you do not have serious gluten issues, get the chicken bowls or salads.
Ultimate Double Chicken bowl is Sooo good.
No separate GF prep/cooking area. GF Options: The flame-grilled chicken, pinto beans, corn on the cob.

The don't even know what gluten or celiac is.

Their food selection might have a lot of gluten free options on their menu. However, they use shared utensils, cutting boards etc.

Their food is always healthy and at the same time delicious.
The food is always fresh and delicious.
Limited GF menu, but good.
Great tastey, healthy and quick fast food. I am always happy there. Much better than a burger
Yes
This is an unsafe gluten filled fast food joint. The first review is probably fake.

The pollo bowl is amazing!
The chicken, rice, beans, and obviously corn tortillas are GF.
Not even an attempt to understand my wife's need to avoid cross contamination. Asked them to change their gloves but realized no one was wearing gloves! Avoid if you don't want to get sick!
