I ordered the GF Alicha Siga (2), the GF injera bread, and the 3 sides of Gomen (11), Azifa (15), and Atakelt Wott (16). The waiter was friendly and explained the foods. The Alicha Siga and Atakelt Wott were delicious. However. I should not have gotten the GF injera. The gentleman taking my order told me they cooked the GF injera a d the gluten-y injera on consecutive days on the same equipment but that they cleaned between the two and that if any of the gluten-y injera mix got into the GF injera mix, no matter if it was a drop, it would automatically change the color of the GF injera mix as the two have different colors. I did not feel well after my meal. I am very sensitive to gluten and I wonder if there was some cross-contamination going on between the breads or if maybe I got the guten-y injera bread by mistake. I got take-out as I'm from out of town.

Almost everything here is gluten free. They will make you gluten free injeera on a separate cooking surface. Highly recommend.

It’s hard to find gluten free injera, but this place has great gluten free injera. It was clearly different from the regular, but still had the classic taste. As someone who has tried Ethiopian food all over the country, this place ranks very high for me. It’s clearly an authentic, mom-and-pop shop with great service. I’m so happy I had the opportunity to stop here while I was in Austin!

some of the best Ethiopian food I’ve had from a little shack by the highway. The guy at the counter gave me clear answers when I asked what was gluten free (answer: almost everything and they have GF injera (for no extra charge, huzzah!). The lunch special is a really generous portion of one meat and two vegetable dishes for under $10. I didn’t interrogate them on their cooking practices but I marked celiac friendly bc it’s been all afternoon and I feel fine.

This place is SO GOOD! I got a lunch special to go, you get to pick 4 options and they give you 3 huge pieces of gf injera. They were all so tasty and the descriptions are good and they were able to easily answer my questions about other allergens. If I'm ever in Austin again I will definitely stop here.

Staff were very nice, food was amazing. They have gluten free injera (bread). Also most if not all of their vegetarian dishes are also vegan. They make the food on the spot so it can be customized to your needs.

Loved this place. Cozy inside and great food. Ordered the gluten free injera, and it was very clear it was different from the regular which others I ate with had.

Friendly staff and very tasty food! Be sure to ask for g free injera. Mild and spicy options. We come here often and love it!
very friendly, knowledgeable staff. GF injera makes almost the entire menu celiac safe. We tried vegetarian sampler and dobo watt, extra spicy. delicious meal, plus relaxing because we were confident of no contamination.

This is among my favorite places in Austin. Can order "black" injera for no surcharge--it is GF, made with teff only. We often go for the lunch buffet ($10) so you can try lots of dishes. Always lots of veggies available.
