Server told me that they can sub corn for flour tortillas on any taco. Mentioned cross contamination in the fryer, told me they could find workarounds for friend ingredients. Added gluten allergy to my slip, double checked they had. Tasty! There wasn’t a separate GF menu in person, but the server was knowledgeable.

I had great tacos here! They have a separate GF menu which is reassuring! The only thing is that they do say they cannot guarantee cross contamination as there are flour tortillas in the same kitchen. I am coeliac but I tend to risk this as tortillas don’t make crumbs like bread/pizza dough. I had no adverse symptoms from eating here at all. I suppose if you are super super sensitive then maybe don’t risk the tacos, have the fillings in a bowl instead. Would genuinely recommend this place though!

Due to the hand crafted nature of our food, variations in our supplier ingredients, and our use of shared cooking and preparation areas, we cannot ensure that our food is free from any allergens. We prepare our foods following procedures to prevent allergen cross-contact, but products containing wheat are made in our kitchens.
Love this place! Many GF options and a helpful staff.

NOT FOR CELIACS. They use a shared grill.

These guys are awesome!!! They even fried a separate batch of chips for me!
Yes
The chips aren't GF, even if they say it's OK, they are NOT safe for celiac (no dedicated fryer).
Other than the chips, you can order a lot and not get sick, you just need to check with the manager. Some of the UT students who work here are clueless about celiac disease (nice kids, just not trained).
If you do have celiac disease, the manager will help you to figure out what you can eat, and will be knowledgeable. They also take precautions for cross contamination if they know you are allergic, and not just a lifestyle GF person.
My wife has hyper-sensitive celiac disease, so Torchy's made her nervous the first time. After two times back, she's never been glutened or sick.
I give four stars because even though they are celiac able, a lack of GF menus and staff training makes it unfriendly to persons with the disease.

Best tacos ever!!

I love this place and the remodel is awesome! Torchy's is a much every time I am in Austin!
Just went in for the first time in a while only to be told that they no longer have a gluten free menu because the previous one was incorrect :/ this is very discouraging but everyone was helpful and I was still able to find something.
Never cease to impress. The tacos are delectable and it doesn't hurt that they have cane sugar Dr. Pepper
Delicious tacos! Eaten here several times with other celiacs and no one’s gotten sick. They have a separate “gluten conscious” menu.

We attended the soft opening (it officially opens in just a few days on May 15, 2024). They confirmed they have a dedicated gluten free fryer for the chips. We've had luck at other locations with their gluten sensitive menu (avoiding chips at locations that don't have a dedicated fryer) and this one was just the same. They did mention that the potatoes recently changed to hashbrown style and those are not fried in the dedicated fryer, so just be aware of that potential if they don't switch back to diced potatoes.

The app has a lot more diet and allergen information and clear options than ordering in person. Even if you're eating there, you could review it ahead or grab a table and order on your phone, especially if you're avoiding dairy and soy. Those are much harder to identify on the in-store menu.

I got the airstream salad and it was good. There is a risk of cross contamination since it’s a shared kitchen but I didn’t get sick.

Great tacos and guac.! Pork taco on corn tortillas. Delicious! I made a huge mistake and ate the chips without thinking, ( Fried in same oil). But they change out the oil nightly and since we went early for lunch I did not get sick. Yay!!!
