This was probably the best GF meal I’ve ever had at a restaurant! I asked for GF menu, our waitress had one with her. I ordered the Steak Kabob with no rice. Mashed potatoes with no gravy and a side salad with oil and vinegar no croutons. They brought out the salad with a small container of oil and another small container of red wine vinegar so I could add as much or as little as I wanted. I really appreciate that! Then the Kabobs and mashed potatoes came out… absolutely fabulous! I was so shocked. Will be adding Texas Roadhouse to my favorites list ❤

Texas Roadhouse is usually a good chain for gluten free. This was not my vest experience with them. I ordered my food with allergy prep. When my steak come out, it had a stray piece of a not-gluten-free topping mixed in, which was highly concerning. They remade my steak and the manager brought it out. Granted, it was extremely busy and I was with a large party. In the end, I did not get sick. This is probably a decent stop for GF, especially considering there didn't seem to be much else in the area. This was an obligatory dinner stop on a road trip.

I ordered pick up from the gluten free menu. Steak, baked potato, and steamed broccoli. No extras since I was picking up and could add my own toppings at home. Everything was delicious and I did not have any reactions.

Very few options that would be safe. Their seasoning is not gluten free and they put it on EVERYTHING! My Celiac daughter wanted corn, couldn’t have it….baked potato? Nope, they cover the outside with bacon grease and seasoning. After a lot of discussion we ended up with a steak with no seasoning and a side of broccoli.

Yes, this is a chain, and has been safe go-to if available during our roadtrips. This location is near our home-base. They do have GF options on their website. My husband likes it there bc there are more GF options to choose from for sides. So far no reactions (knock on wood). Aside from most of the steak options, the ribs (bbq sauce or rub) have been alright for him.
Perks for me: the warm rolls with cinnamon butter, not to rub it in :)

Went to this Texas Roadhouse for a birthday dinner. They have a gluten friendly menu. I stressed to the waiter that I needed to eat gluten free. I had a NY Strip Steak with baked potato and a house salad. I ordered the house salad without croutons. The waiter seemed familiar with gluten friendly options but the kitchen gave me a salad with croutons anyway. Steak was cooked to order and was good.

There are not many options in the area that are super safe for someone with Celiacs (that we could find). We called ahead and asked some questions and decided to try it. You can look on their website and select your allergies to see what you can eat. My son had the potato skins with cheddar cheese and bacon bits as a shared appetizer and loved them. He had a bun less burger and substituted the unsafe fries for loaded mashed potatoes. We were told his burger was made in a separate corner away from breaded items and they used fresh gloves to handle his food. He has celiacs and didn’t get a bellyache. He also was excited to have some of the peanuts they bring to the table. Happy with our experience but it was definitely a risk.

Went here for my birthday and had a good experience with the waitress and staff. Super nice and she even brought out a Gluten Friendly menu. The menu was helpful in stating what items can be substituted out when ordering and what to stay away from in their menu. I’m not sure if they have this menu posted online, but I took a picture to share. I would recommend staying away from any of their appetizers if you’re super sensitive as they don’t have a dedicated fryer for fries or other non battered items.

The waitress didn’t seem confident on gluten info and didn’t know that butter was dairy when I mentioned my dairy allergy as well. Obviously there’s cross contact I didn’t get sick but I had the online allergen info pulled up while ordering because the waitress was clueless and didn’t seem willing to find someone who knew about the ingredients

The gluten free menu they have is completely incorrect. After I ordered their pulled pork dinner I had a manager come over to us to let me know the seasoning had wheat in it. Then handed me a gluten free menu that offers the pulled pork as gluten free. I then had to order a season-less steak because they use that same seasoning on the steak as well. I still got sick after all of that too.

This is our “go-to” on nights when we don’t have dinner planned at home. The staff is friendly. We explain the gluten allergy at each visit. I order the same items at each visit and take out. I never have an issue. (They do include the rolls in a separate bag for take out orders. It’s difficult to avoid the temptation!) Meal: 8 oz filet Sides: loaded baked potato, plain salad

The staff is quite knowledgeable. With Celiac sometimes it feels like you are rewriting the menu. I was told what sides were good, my meat was cooked separately, an brought out separately from my party.
It's wonderful to feel cared for and eat well

I called ahead and was told they have a “gluten friendly menu” and the staff should be knowledgeable about options. When we arrived and asked for a gf menu the waitress brought out a separate menu with quite a variety of options. I ordered a steak combo with shrimp, house salad (no croutons), and loaded baked potato. When my order first came out it was not gluten free as there was a roll on my plate. When I pointed it out to our waitress she quickly took it away and had everything made fresh for me. One of the managers came out with my new meal and made sure it was correct for me. Overall we had a good experience. I don’t seem to have had any reaction however I took gluten ease just to be cautious since it’s a large busy restaurant and risk is high for cross contamination. Giving it four stars because of the meal mixup.

Was a bit skeptical at first, but was immediately put at ease when the manager, Sarah, knew everything about every menu option. She was able to advise me on different options appropriate for Celiac, as well as their preparation process with varying risks of cross contamination, and even verified the oil that they use to cook the steaks. I was so impressed by the staff, and haven’t felt this comfortable with a gluten “friendly” place in a very long time. Service staff will be getting a very good tip from me!

I eat a steak here with usually no issue, but I unfortunately do get gluten poisoning from time to time. My celiac partner asked for a gluten free menu and they only had one in Spanish, so he had to use an online translating tool. The servers warn the kitchen about allergies.

They have a 'gluten friendly' menu which is weird wording but it states what you can have and what you need to take off for it to be gluten free. The restaurant couldn't find one so they printed one for me. I wasn't 100% confident in the server as it did not look like she made a note of the allergy for the kitchen. Food was ok and I did not get sick.

I was pleasantly surprised! There were a lot of options but not marked on the menu. Basically just had to watch the sauces and obviously breaded items. I originally ordered chicken breast with the mushroom sauce. My server wasn’t knowledgeable but she asked and thought it was ok. Then a manager told me they double checked with corporate and the sauce was not gluten free so we changed to bbq sauce. It came on the side. It was delicious. I noticed even the salad dressing and cheese is on the side & my friend’s Caesar salad didn’t have croutons. They do start with a bread bowl but that’s easily avoidable of course. There were two managers one for my gluten issue and another who checked on so I felt like if there was other problems it would have been easy to deal with. If you’re out shopping its better than most restaurants in the area in my opinion.

Just called to see if a particular meal that comes in a gravy can be made gluten free and they said yes. When I asked about the gravy being made with flour he stammered and said I could get it on the side. Obviously that could just be that guy so hesitant to give bad review.

Not necessarily Celiac friendly. Waitress knew how to advise confidently on the menu. But no gluten free menu, integrated nor separate. All fried foods use the same oil (not gluten free). Some of the stakes are cooked in sauce with soy sauce (not gluten free). I ordered a New York steak, salad without croutons, and a bake potato. All is well so far, no symptoms of contamination.
