An’s is hands down my favorite gelato spot, and that was true even before I went GF. I love their variety of unique flavors, and bonus that their cones are GF, too! If doing a flavor tour, the servers ask you upfront if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions. Most of their flavors are GF, except on rare occasions when they do a collaboration with a non-GF partner. Those exceptions are typically disclosed on their website on their rotating menu page, or servers will disclose that to you when you notify them of your restrictions. They always have at least one vegan flavor on rotation, which is great if you have dairy or vegan preferences, too.

Absolutely LOVED this place! They have 7 rotating flavors, all gluten free plus a gluten free cone! The cone was better than any waffle cone I’ve ever had. The wait staff confirmed it was gf and it was to die for. Will absolutely be back.

This little ice cream shop is entirely gluten free-even the waffle cones. The ice cream is simply delicious. The servers start by asking about allergies, although it is already gf. We went twice and will go again whenever we are in the city.

Okay, it blows my mind that as visitors to San Diego we found this place- and when we asked other people who lived here if they'd been, they NEVER. HEARD. OF. IT.
The disrespect.
So my initial presumption was that this was an ice cream shop running out of an active dry cleaning business, and I was curious how that would work, because aren't dry cleaning shops usually on the warmer side and wouldn't that kind of not meld with ice cream?
But no worries friends, because if you are also sometimes slow-witted like myself, I have done the legwork, and can confirm that there is one business that An's is involved in, and that business is making terrific gelato. And it is GELATO, not ice cream, because I looked it up just now on their website.
We visited on a colder December evening and there was still a line- why do we crave these things more when it's cold? The line didn't move super fast, but I was chillin, literally and figuratively, because the folks scooping that sweet cream had their incredible customer service skills on display and were taking the time to make sure that everyone was getting exactly what they wanted. At this time in line I was still a little wary, as my gluten-free and Celiac plagued homies can empathize with, since I had read mixed reviews on whether or not I would actually be able to partake. When in doubt, go straight to the source, right?
Well, the source came THROUGH. I shall set the record straight. At the time of writing this review, the only gelato flavors that are not always safe for those with Celiac disease are the ones in which An's does collaborations with from time to time. All the cookies, pie crust, waffle cones, etc. that are mixed in with the various standard flavors are made in-house and are gluten-free.
What did this mean for me? This means that since it was my first time there, this already incredibly helpful girl had me try EVERY flavor. And every flavor was phenomenal. I ended up getting Oven Mitts (apple cinnamon pie crust) and Leather (chocolate-chip cookies & brown butter). Leather surprised me because I am not typically a cookies-in-my-ice-cream-or-in-this-case-gelato type person, but that brown butter had me weak in the knees.
They do NOT cut corners on scoops here. I could not finish. I blame this on two things. One, we had just eaten dinner and I pretended to leave room for dessert- a cute lil lie that I like to tell myself. Two, the freakin scoop of Oven Mitts felt like it was 80% pie crust. BREH. I felt like I was eating another meal. In hindsight, I would've ditched the cone. It was entirely too much for me, but that's what freezers are for, right?
In conclusion, An's Dry Cleaning that is not actually dry cleaning is a great gelato spot for anyone who enjoys gelato. Or ice cream.

I AM OBSESSED. Absolutely blown away by this gelato shop. We knew they had GF items but didn’t realize every single thing is GF! Plus, the gelato was developed by a chef from Spain with 4 Michelin stars and it shows. The best gelato I have ever had and the first waffle cone I’ve been able to have in almost a decade 😭. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was adorable. I live across the country but I’d go back just for this place

Almost every flavor is celiac safe (specialty collaborations usually aren't) and the gluten free cone is to die for. Delicious and worth the visit!

An’s Dry Cleaning is such a gem in San Diego! Incredibly thankful to have found a 100% gluten-free facility. Staff reassured me that it is safe for those with celiac disease :) flavors are incredible!! And the cone, omg, you have to get it! So so delicious. They offer a free flavor tour upon arrival to taste all of the flavors before ordering and are super kind. My new favorite place for a sweet treat!
P.S. new flavors every two weeks!

BEST GF ICE CREAM IVE EVER HAD. WHOLE PLACE IS GF INCLUDING ICE CREAM CONES! COME HERE!
They had so many fun, creative flavors and they let us try them all (a tasting tour, they called it) before picking our flavor. They asked if we had any food allergies prior, which was so nice, and they were very nonjudgmental about GF. All their flavors were gluten free at the time! I can’t vouch for their cones since I just got a cup, but it looked great.

AWESOME. All flavors are GF (completely GF kitchen), AND gluten free waffle cones. They also offer a vegan flavor. Every thing we tried was absolutely delicious. Could not recommend more!

Today all of the flavors were gluten-free (not sure if they always are) Really interesting, delicious flavors and the texture was a mixture between ice cream and gelato. The gluten-free waffle cone was SO good - it tasted like a crispy, buttery shortbread cookie. Will definitely be going back!

The best gelato ever!! Their cones and all of their mix-ins are gluten free and made on site. The only time they have gluten around is when doing a collaboration with another business, and that hasn’t happened in the handful of times I’ve visited. It’s awesome to have a celiac-safe place to grab ice cream.

Almost completely gluten free menu except for one flavor - no concerns for cross contamination from my point of view. They even have gluten free homemade waffle cones which were delicious and way better than normal cones so I’m told. Server was super sweet and we tried samples of all the menu flavors - all were amazing. Love this place! 🍦

They have always been gluten free and recently they’ve started making new flavors with gluten, and there is risk for cross contamination now with those new items
The flavors are truly amazing, but if you’re sensitive to cross contamination, it may be a risk now
