Lunch was a little disappointing at The Smith. Some items are gluten free, unfortunately the shrimp & grits were not, but the cheddar jalapeño grits were, and they were really tasty so it worked out.

Surprisingly great with GF! Very helpful waitress, a manager came over to confirm protocol without me even asking, and your food comes out with a red flag!

No separate gluten free menu but very helpful with helping with food allergies and intolerances. Had great breakfast.

I felt completely comfortable eating here, the waiter walked me through the entire menu and what would be safe to eat. There was something he was unsure about and he went back to the kitchen to check and make sure. They are able to prepare a lot of the menu GF and they also have GF pasta which they prepare separately. After ordering, a manager also came over to our table to ensure me that he and the kitchen were aware of my GF needs and that everything would be prepared safely. Anything with an allergy also comes out with a little red flag on it, so you know it’s been handled properly. My meal was delicious and I had no issues. I felt really taken care of here and I will definitely be returning!

They have good GF pasta options, the waiter was super busy but still made the time to clarify my allergy and my food came out flagged as gluten free.

Staff are knowledgeable about celiac and a manager came out to ensure my meal would be prepared safely. Decent amount of options considering the size of the menu. Love eating here for a nicer meal when I come to NYC!

Called the restaurant and added a note saying I have a gluten allergy on my burger. They said they would give me a lettuce wrap and gluten free fries. Come to find out the burger I ordered had fried, battered onions and the fries were not gluten free.

Server was very knowledgeable. They were able to make several suggestions. My food came out with a flag in it from the kitchen to confirm it was GF. I ordered the Ranchero

I explained I had celiac and manager came out to assure me that a flag would be in my food to signal it was safe. I had the kale salad with quinoa with the Dijon vinaigrette for lunch. Delicious
Yes
The waiter was extremely knowledgeable. They flagged my allergy and every plate came out with a flag indicating it was for me. There aren’t a ton of options or anything flagging gluten free friendly foods on the menu. Hence my 4 start, otherwise this place was great.
not a ton of GF options but staff very knowledgeable. allergy dishes brought out marked with flags for safety.
Yes
Gluten free pasta, great burgers, but no gf buns
No dedicated fryer. No allergen menu. They had no idea why they had been included on this list. We left without eating.
Ate there for brunch this weekend and it was the best meal I had while I was in NYC. They were very knowledgeable and marked my meal with a little red flag to signify an allergy.
Yes
After telling them I was gf they flagged every single gluten free item they brought out and I was 100% confident in what I was eating

(Celiac diner here) Gluten-free protocol is EXCELLENT: manager checks on the meal, plates are literally FLAGGED so you know you have a gluten-free dish, they use a gluten-free dedicated fryer, and the French fries are AWESOME! Goat cheese omelet! Burger without the bun is soooo delicious (with garlic aioli), I didn’t miss the bun. Great brunch Saturday and Sunday with awesome brunch cocktails (included with some entrees). We ate here every day because it is reassuring to see their diligence.
I went here tonight with someone who has celiacs. The restaurant had a GF menu and when she ordered the GF option, the waiter asked if preference or allergy. Once she identified as an allergy, the waiter said he got it and food may take a bit longer. Then the manager came out, went over their steps to ensure safety, and said her food would have a red flag denoting GF. The food was all delicious and seemed very safe.
