When asked if GF Menu available I was given a 15 page spieal bound book listing every food item Doan the left side and 12 or more "allergens" as a header row across (spreadsheet style chart) I t would an hour with a magnifying glass to read that entire thing, very awkward and k.poisibke to be of any use to me. I asked about individual items.
This is a last resort restaurant IMO. I should have kept the"book" at the table as I am pretty sure the fried apples were in a flour based sauce.

I can't say I would recommend eating at a cracker barrel if you have celiac or a gluten sensitivity, but they do have options should you need them. They have an allergen menu on their website with some gluten free items, but there is still a high risk of cross-contact.
I only ordered a side of mashed potatoes to be safe. Explained to the staff that I have celiac disease and the importance of no cross-contact. I didn't have a reaction.

They do offer a gluten free menu and have a lot of gluten free items. I’m always a little cautious since they do such a high volume of food. No gluten free breads.

Absolutely a pain to eat here. Even with the allergen menu, the risk of cross contamination is very high.

A little disappointed with the options here. There is only one entree I can safely eat gluten free at this establishment- Grilled Chicken Tenderloins, with a few safe sides (usually I choose green beans and corn).
GF options are extremely limited here because almost everything is breaded, fried or is thickened with flour.
Cross contamination is possible.
Anyone who is Celiac should not eat here.

I am not celiac and don’t have to worry about contamination, but I still had a pretty bad experience. There is no meal on the menu that doesn’t include something with gluten. I asked to substitute the biscuits in the meal I was ordering for another side. The waitress said they couldn’t do that and she said they could give me the gravy on the side as if that made a difference. I ended up just giving the biscuits to someone I was with and paying extra to get a different side for myself. It was very disappointing that they had such a lack of understanding about gluten allergies.

No gluten free menu and very little options for someone with Celiac. So I asked the waitress if she knew of anything that is gluten free. She stated the eggs are fresh with no filler. So I ordered that and a small cup of fresh fruit. I don’t think they’re too worried about cross contamination. So I’m hoping I don’t regret this later.

I always get eggs, grits and bacon. No issues. And I'm very sensitive with Celiac. EDIT: I haven’t been since pre-COVID. I went at Thanksgiving. I was disappointed to hear their lack of willingness to clean the grill off for scrambled eggs.

Before you eat or place an order know that the waitress can bring you a binder that has every item that they serve and the possible allergens associated with that food. From there, you should be able to figure out if there is something that you can eat or not. It's quite extensive.
I ordered the breaded catfish. Although it was fried and soy I think it was gluten-free.
There are several gluten-free options although I'm not sure of the safety in the back kitchen. The catfish was very good!

Stay away if you are celiac or gluten-sensitive. The staff here have no clue. We sent salads back twice when they first brought salads with croutons, second when they simply removed most (but not all) croutons but crumbs were still visible. Cross-contamination is virtually guaranteed, so can NOT recommend…

Service was exceptionally friendly, prices were reasonable, food was satisfying. I have celiac and can't eat gluten. In order to avoid gluten, or any other allergen, ask for their Allergies Book. I appreciate their attention to detail in their book about the allergens in their food. There are not a huge amount of options, but you can eat here if you order carefully. I can't vouch for cross-contamination, but I did not have any reactions after eating here. My only complaint is that breakfast grains, including hash browns and grits, *all* contain gluten! I ordered their excellent g-f mashed potatoes with my eggs. Dinner was fish with veggie sides and mashed or baked potato.

They have an extensive allergy book. I must be gluten, dairy and soy free. This makes eating out difficult. All of the fried items are fried together.
I had a baked plain sweet potato and cup of fresh fruit. Only thing that would work. I even talked with the manager. Couldn’t come up with anything else ☹

Be sure to ask for the allergen menu. My waitress was unaware they had one but another worker helped her find it. You would be suprised at what menu items contain gluten. I was shocked to see their steamed broccoli contains wheat (per their allergen menu). Not a "may contain" but is listed as "contains wheat." I highly recommend reading it before ordering.

I had an order of grilled chicken. My side house salad was delicious!!! I didn’t ask to replace my biscuit or cornbread with something more gluten friendly because my party was big that day, and the restaurant was busy. I just let everyone else in my party eat my biscuit. I asked for unsweet tea, but I was given sweet.

NOT the best place for celiac, but actually safe gluten free items would be the salad (if you ask them to change gloves) as it’s in a separate bin. All meats and breads are all basically in the same area/same grill. The meatloaf is also safe, but I can’t remember if it’s cooked in same oven as the rolls and cornbread. The Hashbrown casserole is NOT gluten free- I know :’( but you can ask for regular scrambled Hashbrowns. But if you have celiac, lol still a no. Parfait without oats is safe. Fruit is safe. Slaw is safe. Basically the cold items are safe because they’re in their own bins. They will give you a gf menu if you ask. But I personally wouldn’t depend on staff to understand celiac! Best of luck :)

Came here with family a couple times. This link has been extremely helpful https://nogluten.com/cracker-barrel-gluten-free-menu/
I image this location has the same as all the others. Kind of upset that when I asked for a GF menu, they gave me this huge 16 page nutrition guide, so I had to look at the options, and go back to the menu to see how it translated. Took me 15 minutes to order. I had two eggs with grits and bacon. I had to ask to add cheese b/c the grits were boring. Nothing special about the meal and do not think I will wait in the line and deal with the crowds in the future

I’ve always been leery of Cracker Barrel, but I have been to this location a few times and have not had an issue. I get the same thing each time. Grilled chicken tenders, green beans and fried apples. I always tel the waitress that I am allergic to gluten. They have an allergy menu and honestly there is not much for lunch dinner that is gluten free other than what I ordered.

I'm not sure why people give 5 star reviews to places like this! They use all sorts of artificial, unhealthy ingredients. They have zero knowledge of Celiac disease and gluten. The waitress thought rice was gluten, but the gravy is okay. ???? Seriously, do t eat at these types of restaurants. Even the ranch dressing has gluten in it.

I looked up the things they can be gf on google ahead of time so we made ordering easy. My whole family has celiacs. My husbands ordered catfish, son ordered trout and I got the streak. Lots of sides to choose from. Salads and chicken dishes too. If you can be flexible, there is a ton of options. This was less costly than many others options as well. Service was good and food was great!

Is not safe for Celiac. After being seated we informed our server that we had someone who was GF in our party. Server than asked “what is that?”. Waitstaff is not trained on handling of food allergies. When she asked her manager for guidance we were informed their cook tops are used with gluten containing ingredients too so there is cross contamination.

I have four members in my family who are gluten free, and so far, we have had several successful meals here without getting sick. We stick with the grilled chicken salad (no croutons) or the maple bacon glazed grilled chicken with a loaded baked sweet potato and green beans. They have a handful of sides that are gluten free.
